Key responsibilities:
Overall purpose of position is to provide technical support to customers, partners and Motorola Solutions Associates on all product lines.
1. Maintains a high degree of technical competence and expertise on the scanning, wireless networking and mobile computing families of products, in the area of design, functionality, technical specifications and support.
2. Provides Level II direct phone support to customers, partners and Motorola Associates on all product lines.
3. Provides second level support to Tier One support representatives by fielding questions and providing technical direction on support issues, product compatibility, and customer configurations.
4. Provides technical training for tier one support personnel and ongoing mentoring.
5. Facilitates Support Problem Reports (SPR) to the Engineering Department maintaining communications with Engineering and the customer until resolution.
6. Reviews and approves Knowledge content for use by internal support staff and external support channels.
7. Establishes and maintains relationships with Product Engineering and Product Management.
8. Ensures proper software/hardware diagnostics tools are available and all technical associates utilize test procedures.
Qualifications, experience and expertise:
- Knowledge in any of the following areas:
- programming (Visual Studio with .NET and C/C++, Java, SQL);
- developing innovative IT solutions for Windows Mobile/Windows CE mobile devices;
- mobile device configuration via registry keys, DLL’s, API’s;
- Bluetooth and GPS technologies
- English language
- Communications skills; oral, written, and listening.
- Strong problem solving skills and effective communication with customers in troubleshooting problems over the phone.
Desirable
- Previous experience in Support Center / Helpdesk environment
- Time management skills.
- Knowledge in any of the following areas:
Laser/Imaging technologies including hardware/software interfacing and barcode technologies.
Networking: TCP/IP, Cisco router/switch infrastructure, Network security, Network trace analysis, VOIP, 802.11 IEEE standards, WLAN topologies, GSM/GPRS communications.
Shifts: 8:00am until 16:30pm / 9:00am until 17:30pm / 10:30am until 19:00pm
