HRADBY SAMOTY sú festival tematicky zameraný na audiovizuálne
projekty dotýkajúce sa hudobných žánrov ako dark ambient, dark folk,
drone, industrial, noise. Myšlienkou festivalu je spojiť tieto žánre s
tajomnou atmosférou pamiatok poznačených zubom času. V našich
zemepisných šírkach je táto subkultúra prevažne klubovou záležitosťou.
Namieste je teda otázka, ako pamiatky a ambient spolu súvisia.
Pamiatky v sebe nesú odlesk dejov dávno minulých a ich často
zádumčivá atmosféra je veľmi emotívna. Presne ako audiovizuálne
umenie plné tajomných a prekvapivých zvukov, sprevádzané
divadelnými prvkami a znepokojivou projekciou. Ak je takéto
„teatroambienti tenebrae“ zasadené do podmanivej atmosféry
nočnej pamiatky, výsledný efekt je o to pôsobivejší.

HRADBY SAMOTY (Walls of Solitude) is a festival which focuses on
audiovisual projects from genres such as dark ambient, dark folk, drone,
industrial and noise. The idea of the festival is to join thesegenres with
the mysterious atmosphere of monuments marked bythe ravages of time.
In our latitudes this subculture is mainly a matterof clubs, so you may
ask how these monuments are related to thiskind of art. Historical
monuments are the bearers of a long past and their often melancholy
atmosphere inspires very strong emotions – just as visual art full of
mysterious and surprising sounds, accompaniedby theatrical elements
and sinister visuals does. If such a „teatro ambientitenebrae“ is set in
the captivating atmosphere of an old castle at night,the final effect is
even more impressive.

Over the past two decades, Der Blutharsch has been constantly
changing, ever evolving into something new – from their early
beginnings as the inventors of ‘military pop’ to Der Blutharsch and
the Infinite Church of the Leading Hand’s hallucinatory tendencies –
allowing Albin Julius to find alchemical, musical perfection; parts
krautrock, psychedelia, and dark experimentalism.

Albums such as “Joyride”, “Today I want To Catch Clouds” , “The
Story About The Digging of The Hole And The Hearing of The
Sounds From Hell” aswell as collaborations with acts such as
Aluk Todolo and White Hills showcase Albin Julius’ psychedelic
maturity. Instead of full on ‘freak outs’ so common to most
psychonauts, he’s blending his post industrial and neo folk roots
with a wide spectrum of cerebal sounds and keeping his
mind-altering compositions really tight – both rhythmically and
atmosphericly.

Theatrical and tense, sonically dark and perverse, ritualistic and
confusing, Der Blutharsch and the Infinite Church of the Leading
Hand is undeniably authentic.

Treha Sektori is the ritual dark ambient musical project of French
musician and visual artist Dan Sora, aka Dehn Sora, also behind
the black metal project Throane. Though the date of formation is
unknown, the project's first album 'Sorieh' was released in 2009.
Since then, Treha Sektori has released two further full-length albums
as well as a range of collaborative and experimental efforts including
the live album 'Acermeh' in 2016, as well as collaborations with
Amenra,Oathbreaker and others.

Yann Faussurier has been making music under the moniker
Iszoloscope since 1999, crafting pulsing, pounding soundscapes
with a core of industrial, hard-core, break-core and rhythmic noise
layered with intelligent and often surprising details, such as melodic
percussions and carefully placed breaks, rich, orchestral textures
and dark, cinematic distortions. Experimental in nature and charged
with energy, the music evokes a darkness, tension and atmosphere
which immediately carries the listener away on an immersive,
complex journey of introspection.

Founded as a collaboration in 1999, iszoloscope became Faussurier’s
solo project in 2001. Since then, the project has amassed an
impressive oeuvre: 7 full-length albums on European labels Ant-Zen
and Spectre, 8 successful tours in Europe and North America, several
EPs and collaborations, a long list of remixes and compilations, and
appearances at shows and festivals around the world, including
a regular spot on the lineup at Germany’s Maschinenfest. In recent
years, iszoloscope's live and studio lineup has also included Shane
Whitbread, Guillaume Nadon and Frédéric Scarfone.

Anemone Tube was founded 1996 in South-Germany; since 2010
based in Berlin. The audio works of Anemone Tube are a unique

Marta Zapparoli is an Italian experimental sound artist, improviser,
performer, self taught researcher. She works and lives in Berlin
since 2007. Her music mainly consists in narrative sonic pieces
that she builds using her sound archive recorded with a variety of
recording techniques with out borders, manipulating this material
with analogue reel to reel and tape machines.

She record audio signals with the use of analogue and digital
devices, antennas, sensors, detectors and microphones. She is
interested on the boundaries and relations between acoustic ecology,
vibration sound, noise pollution, ultrasonic, radio waves, EMF.

From 2014, her new ongoing research and project called "Inaudible
Sound", it is an investigation into inaudible signals which She
capture and record around the world focused on whether phenomena,
Radio nature (VLF) coming from natural phenomenas, EMF, radio
waves VHF, air and navy communication, wireless, telegraph
communication, morse code, unexplainable acoustic phenomenas
and the multiple effects of its spectral side which shape our sense
and perception of the reality.

She performed all over Europa and USA, Denmark ,Lithuania,
Sweden, Norway, Croatia, Romania,Turkey and she played with many
regarded musicians and bands.

She is involved in many other projects with musicians, sound artists,
dancers.

OBŠRR builds his world with blocks of decadent architecture. This
urban sight is made up with sounds of real-time fractures, nostalgic
samples from a late 80s childhood, sequences of heartbroken
melodies and heavy poetry.In the center of it all cowers an isolated
and lonely soul.

"According to its founder Vytautas Pliadis, the name of the project
is open for interpretation. He himself has once mentioned ‘a morning
being violently devoured by an orange beast’ which in Lithuanian
spells as ‘Oranžinė Bestija, Šiurkščiai Ryjanti Rytą’, but the author
believes that imagination should not be hindered by an imposed
truth. It is like a child’s playground where one can invent a game with
any object that’s available without having to worry about its actual
purpose.

The music of Obšrr is like that too. Stylistically it is embedded in a
neofolk / synthpop / experimental soil, but due to its unusual approach
to sound, someone has suggested a neopolka label (of course this term
has nothing to do with its immediate connotation, instead it refers to a
method rather than form). Lately the music of Obšrr has gained some
harsher contours and sharper staccato-like corners (like in a sandbox).
One may also say it is flirting with techno. But this is just a first
impression – affiliation to classical harmonies is also present, while
the whole soundscape is nicely encased by a hovering, unifying
aesthetic. What’s left to say is that no matter how abrasive the
silhouettes, there’s always a beam of sunshine coming through and
casting light on one’s childhood meadows."

“An undeniable force has been ressurrected“

TeHÔM was the first ever croatian “dark & ritual ambient“ music
project of its time and one of Europe’s mainstays and purveyors
in the sophisticated dark and experimental ambient genre and scene.
Active in the mid 90's, Croatia's TeHÔM has been resurrected in the
2010 by original member Miljenko Rajaković. Their first 2 albums
were released on Twilight Command, side label of Douglas P's NER
label. TeHÔM's founding member Siniša Očuršćak unfortunately
passed away in 1997. 3 years after his passing their 2nd album, and
what was thought to be their last, "Theriomorphic Spirits” was finally
released and become classic inbetween albums in genre.

The project was then laid to rest and years later finally revived after
long silence 2014 with the album “Lacrimae Mundi”, released by
respected canadian label Cyclic Law Records and became a part of
their music family. A very surreal, obscure and cinematic sounding
opus has been created by Miljenko, complex tracks with deep
atmospheres utilizing tribal and ritual elements, following closely in
the footsteps of previous works but now taking the project to new
levels. Yet always in keeping with Siniša's vision and in honor of
his memory and spirit.

Live album “Live Assault” was out in Aug 2017.for Cyclic Law in CD
format and spanish label La Esencia in LP vinyl picture disc + bonus
CD “Extra Assault” with some unreleased studio material. New 4th studio
album is in preparation and will be out on CD/LP ones in 2018.

The eternal Abyss is awoken once again, as the primordial flood of
Chaos awaits to penetrate the innermost parts of your soul with all its
powers, ready to unleash new aural output.

Maria Jiku is noise-visual activist. Born in Kyoto,Japan. Curretly based
in Berlin. Combined her scream voice, rhythmic noise, harsh industrial

This ritual delicacy  — Povilas Vaitkevičius from Lithuania is a blend
of the concreteness of the moment on the one hand and total
spirituality and dreaminess on the other. The specific name is a
reference to the cruelty of the world after one comes to it and this
music can become an escape into dreamy visions and fantasy.
These trance-like hallucinations are cool ] and inviting at the same
time.

Pogrom started as a noise/power electronics unit some time in
2007-2008. While still participating in various other projects and
bands, Pogrom was sort of "extracurricular activity" what slowly
transformed into main element of creations.

I am not sure how Pogrom would have happened in that time if not
frequent communication with Pasi from Filth and Violence, who
listened to first demo records and released them.

Despite some controversy regarding the project name there were
several gigs behind the country's borders - United Kingdom (though
Pogrom was announced as "secret act" because of various things),
several shows in Finland (with infamous cut etc.), Russia short tour
with Bizarre Uproar and so on. And dozens of gigs in Lithuania.

The style of Urbanfailure is ultra-abstract sound-art consisting of
microsounds and discreet rhythm textures. Despite the fact that this
isn't meant to be catchy, there are something quite cool about the
rhythmic structures of Urbanfailure. Very cold but also hypnotizing
thanks to the complex pallet of strange noises coming in and out
during playtime.

Live noise deconstruction while structure construction, synthesis of
feelings and realization where concept is also a way to use sound
as opinion.

Urbanfailure is a one man project... He started to explore electronic
sound fields in 1996 via computer and Impulse Tracker in 1997 he
recorded his first tape called 'Try It'. As he started to play live he
moved from computer based setup to HW. Actual setup is based on
synths, drum machine and pedals.

Myrornas Krig (identified under Cadlag) is a duo formation, of the
two protagonists/founders/members of the project Cadlag, Simon
(Pharmafabrik Recordings) and Neven (organizer of Zasavje
Noisefest International). Myrornas krig or "war of the ants" is the snow"
of b/w static noise (seen on the TV set), the "ant-dance of black on
white", coming from an unknown source, going back to the
fundamental electromagnetic strata of the universe and the
emergence of radio waves. Audio-visual investigation and research
of M.K. delves into the fields of cosmic background radiation waves,
scattered throughout the space, locating and transcribing the
minimal possible detectable microwave-signal into the myrornasian

AVA is a collective of producers, promoters and sound hunters

Walls of Solitude will present project Moving Spaces and also solo
projects of its members Sky To Speak, Tatratank and DJ sets of
Snediggen Snurssla and Sun Drugs.

Moving Spaces deconstruct the environment by using four
independent sound sources. They invite the audience to actively
participate in creating their own sound collage mix consisting of field
recordings from various places all over the world. The listener receives
his own sound experience by simply walking around and connecting
the four sources into one unique composition.

Emil Maťko (b. 1979) a.k.a. Strom Noir - the father of the Black
Orchid label lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia. He has been
producing music as Strom Noir since 2007 and released his works on
such labels as Zoharum, Hibernate, dataObscura, Drone records,
Dronarivm, Rural Colours, taâlem, Twisted Tree Line, U-Cover and
Ginjoha. By using almost solely electric and acoustic guitars and
effect pedals he finds a spot somewhere between drone, drifting
ambient and post-rock transmuted guitar textures. The music could
probably be best described as guitar and loop-based ambient with
a melancholic feel to it. He is of Rusyn descent.

The alias “Teapot” encompasses music related activities
(production, live-act and DJing) of Tomáš Ferko. His music production
is largely based on the development of various ideas during live
shows. The key creative method is improvisation with loops, themes
and rhythms. This playful approach enables not only to create tracks
but also present spontaneous mutations of them each time they are
played live. Although the resulting songs are a melange of genres,
what they have in common is a feel of spatiality. Already in the year
2004 he was a participant of Red Bull Music Academy in Rome, but
his main habitat is the Slovak and Czech electronic music scene.
Throughout the years, he has played and DJed at many festivals,
opened for a number of international guests, and hit almost all of the
key venues and released his music mainly through Exitab.

Prior to relocating to Prague at the beginning of 2014 he was a
resident DJ at Wilsonic Club — a monthly club-night directly affiliated
with Wilsonic Festival.

Currently he is co-running the DIY platform “Altershapes” — acting as a
content curator for the website, a co-host at the monthly radio-show on
Radio Punctum and as a resident DJ at parties hosted by the collective.

Keosz is a multi-genre one man project founded in 2008 by artist Erik
Osvald, he is known for his deep emotional and melancholic music.
Being born into a home of music, his mother a Piano player, he was a
quick learner of musical structure and rejected music school to walk his
own path. He started his career with Chillout and Electro music. After
few years and few good releases Erik improved his production skills
and released various drum and bass EP’s worldwide. Not one to be
tied to one genre he started experimenting more with unorthodox
rhythms and atmospheres in his sounds. Erik participated in Redbull
music bass camp in Prague in 2015.

ČRNÁ ZEM (formely BLACK HIGHWAY) is a bicephalous live
project that joined the idea of creation of the labyrinthine
soundwave emission element which melting down both conceptual
and impromptu procedures that are objectified into one solid
synergetic organ. ČRNÁ ZEM sound is assisted by many
instrumentations (trumpet, guitar, bass guitar, violin, voice) whose
role is alternatively metabolised, collapsed or even vaporised.
The sound also employs many non-instrumental sources, industrial
stages & rough field recordings. ČRNÁ ZEM grows out of the garden
of drone, dark ambient, industrial and noise, releaving from the
gravity of formal bondages and ties into outspoken vitality.

ČRNÁ ZEM stands also behind the PHUTURE UNKNOWN project,
a little independent collective dedicated to experimentation with
mind resorts representing vitality of aural, visual and other possible
sensual processings that are manufactured and transmitted via our
joint public ventures. PHUTURE UNKNOWN is also an anchor for
many other activities by its members, focusing and managing
sound, design, photography, videoart and writing.

Both ČRNÁ ZEM and PHUTURE UNKNOWN initiatives run on
independency and self-maintained principles sharing several

Former of the elder PANIC SAUCE correctional institution for
experimental mental clearance and animosity methylation provided
with counterculture practice, widespreading noise, abstract noun and
with so far unknown tactics since 1999. At the time, A-TRASH helped
to built up local extreme electronics scene contributing with many
international artists and friends, from Alaska across Old continent to
Australia or Japan (for all namely Abelcain, Hekate, Bloody Fist,
Bombardier, System Corrupt, Les Trolls, Hecate, Sikhara, Martel En
Tete, Eupholus, Koonda Hoola, Widerstand, Power Vs Power, Peace
Off, Interflug Galaktika, Caterva, Noisecamp, Hart?deFakte, Vidio
Atak, Nommo Ogo, Ripit, Sprengstoff, Mars Assault, DHR, Reset,
Headfuk, Solar Skeletons, Idroscalo Dischi, Eat Your Bones and many
many more). Some decade ago transformed and merged into the new
entity, the PHUTURE UNKNOWN conglomerate, which LYKO
PRODUCTION is part of it too. Member of ČRNÁ ZEM, BORNE BY
TEMPEST and DYSNOMIA onomatopoeia developing projects.

Contribution to the Rosice festival will be composed from the
confiteor of savageindustrial tyranny where the human, stretched on a
cog-wheel, has settled down. Blessed with grim-psychedelic psychiatric
hospitality, i take your cerebrum on a long journey, ending up nailed on
a berth in the burning cellar of sunking colossal chimney plant. The sky
is not, scorched is everything and the skin flutters on the stick. The
lament of earthly martyrdom is going to be swallowed with the black
anthems of the appocalypse. This is the sound of wreckage announcing
new beginning. Feel testing the exctinction of the last from the
anthropo-spieces. Because when the man-made machines start to dig,
then the glorius geniture of golden human grave begins to reveal.

ANJEL. Meno anjel (hebr.: מלאך male'ách; gr.: ἄγγελος angelos) nie
je menom prirodzenosti, ale menom funkcie; znamená posol. Je to
nadprirodzená duchovná bytosť podriadená Bohu slúžiaca človeku.
V iných náboženstvách viacerým bohom.

Nie sú v dostahu nášho obyčajného vnímania; žijú v inom svete.
Spôsob ako si ich ľudia predstvujú, si stále žiada vracať sa k
prameňom náboženského symbolizmu.

EPILEPSIA. Epilepsia (hovorovo padúcnica) je neurologické
ochorenie charakterizované opakovanými záchvatmi, ktoré sú
vyvolané abnormálnym signálovým "výbojom" v mozgovej kôre.
Príčin je veľké množstvo: nádory, úraz mozgu s jeho poškodením a
následnou jazvou, rôzne metabolické a vývojové poruchy a
podobne. Rovnako záchvaty môžu mať rôznu formu: od typických
"veľkých" záchvatov - tzv. "grand mal" s bezvedomím, kŕčmi,
pomočením a pohryznutím jazyka až po veľmi nenápadné formy,
ktoré sa prejavujú len krátkou stratou vnímania okolia. Liečba je
v prvom rade medikamentózna, v ťažkých prípadoch sa pristupuje
k chirurgii alebo implantácii elektrostimulátorov, ktoré "rušia"
patologický výboj.

TITTINGUR is the revived brainchild of Dominik Suchy and
Matus Mordavsky: originally a band, with a knack for distortion, noise
and chaos; set to a turbulent angle in noise rock. Following six years
of silence, the band reunited in the Slovakian mountains, during the
rainiest and coldest days of summer 2016, to create new material:
now filthy, heavy, aggressive and electrically charged. The skeleton
of LAVINA is built around a straight techno beat, but the music is far
from standard dancefloor electronica. It is easy to imagine it blasting
out at futurist club rallies like Atonal, Norberg or Unsound. The project
perfectly mirrors the bands current dislocation, the axis between
Copenhagen and Bratislava. TITTINGUR fuses intense, gritty, physical
sound with simple yet very well thought out mix architecture. If one
had to sonify the plans behind the best new takes on architectural
brutalism, this is probably what it would sound like.

OLAF OLAFSONN AND THE BIG BAD TRIP

Olaf Olafsonn and the Big Bad Trip (BBT) are an instrumental
psychedelic rock band from Prague, Czech Republic. They are
well known for their masked stage appearance and their influences
are as diverse as krautrock, classical music or black metal. Apart
from the standard two guitars, bass & drums, they occasionally
make interesting and unconventional use of the flute.

Since BBT got together at a point when all members already had
ample experience from previous bands, they had only been
practising for about two months before releasing their 24-minute
debut Chakra Meditations in March 2015. This record drew heavily
on improvisation – many of the lead guitar parts, flute solos
or drum fills were created impromptu in the studio. Shortly
afterwards, BBT played their first live show in Prague and started
to gig pretty frequently, quickly gaining recognition in the Czech
underground scene.

In December 2015, they released an EP called Plague, which
marked a great leap in the band’s sound, songwriting and overall
sophistication. Plague is in fact one 19-minute song, divided
into six tracks/phases. After the release of Plague, the band
played quite a few shows in the Czech Republic as well as
abroad (UK, Germany, Switzerland), with the likes of Hexvessel,
Der Blutharsch, 10 000 Russos, Lumerians, White Hills, Monomyth
or Glasgow Coma Scale.

To break the silence after a year’s wait, BBT put out a single
called Desecration of the Idols in December 2016 and announced
that in 2017 they will be working on an extraordinary concept album
consisting of four parts, each for one season of the year, with all
instruments recorded out in the open air. The project is called The
Feathers of Oblivion and the first part, Spring, already came out
on CD in April. Based on a unique approach to harmony devised
by BBT’s bass player, The Mathematician, Spring includes ambient
sounds, classical music-inspired elements and dark as well
as uplifting moments. When all four seasons are finished, BBT
plan to release The Feathers of Oblivion on vinyl as a double LP.

Jeanne Frémaux was formed 2000 in Zagreb, Croatia by Toma
Bačić and Luka Bekavac. Fluctuating between extreme variants of
contemporary glitch-pop and obscure electronic/concrète heritage,
Jeanne Frémaux performed in rock clubs, classical venues and art
galleries, collaborated with numerous video/theatre/dance artists.
The group is working in areas between electroacoustic music and
glitch-pop, creating a complex mélange of electronic genres,
principally abandoning traditional pop structures in favour of
disturbing and highly processed sound-styling and articulate
production design.

Jeanne Frémaux produces experimental sound in style of The
Hafler Trio, Nurse With Wound, Coil., etc. The group has released
several self-distributed CDs (for example, Monoblock Endurance
Test AER 022 and Disk Space Recovery). In 2017 Jeanne Frémaux
released Xenia M Vincentini album for Bleak label from Austria
[bleak065].

The group has performed live some concerts at Wien - Rhitz
(Line_In), Wien - WUK, Ljubljana - Bezigrajska galerija (Open
Beats), Zagreb - KSET (Project: Broadcasting), Zagreb - Mama
(Critical Upgrade), Ljubljana, - Metelkova (Start), Graz - Dom im
Berg (Musikprotokoll), etc.

Jeanne Frémaux recorded the soundtrack for raster/skin/wave, a
contemporary dance production by the Gravity Group, which
premiered in January 2002.

One man project from Bratislava (Slovakia), former known as G#
was since 2015 playing pure loud drone – doom with his 6 string
bassguitar and lot of overdrived amps. Nowadays, renamed to
Kragrowargkomn enhancing his funeral / drone doom roots with
dirty toxic industrial sound. Exhausted blackened cacophonyc chords,
escalating loops, downtuned basslines, monotonne industrial drum
beats and samples can drive you to madness and hystery. He was also
cooperating with lot of another artists (The Last King of Poland,
The Bassenger (as Basseng#er), Vrtačky po desáte hodině) and is
members of projects Matra (with 900piesek), “g#Drén” (with Drén) and
Rázsochy (experimental doom band).

Folk wooden houses on fire, death metal children wandering through
catastrophic country, or hairy zombies with gouged eyes... Jan Vytiska
is well known on the Czech art scene as an author of strongly expressive
paintings on the edge of apocalyptic grotesque and prolapsed guts
on canvas. Hairy Chewbacca in an AC/DC t-shirt and other scenes of
horror from Vytiska’s series of pen-and-ink drawings “Heavy Mental Kids”
were exhibited in many places in Czechia and Slovakia.

"CERBEROS"
Markéta Jáchimová was born in 1988 in Domažlice, Czech Republic.
She studied art at various schools, including the High school Zámeček in
Pilsen and the Universiti Institute of Art and Design studied illustration
and fellowship on Glasgow School of Art. In 2009 she moved to Prague
and continued her studies at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and
Design where graduated bachelor degree in sculpture and a master's
in painting. Though her beginnings were as an engraver and painter,
by 2009 she had turned her attention to sculptural work, for which she
is now highly recognized by having many shows with various institutions
in the Czech Republic. Markéta Jáchimová’s early sculpture is composed
of organic materials, such as human hair, plaster and found wood. In the
last years she began to execute her work in crystal and glass and the
pieces themselves have become larger and more referential to what is
becoming the dominant theme of her work: her childhood. She once
said to me: “My childhood has never lost its magic, it has never lost
its mystery and it has never lost its drama.” Deeply symbolic, her work
uses her relationship to the body and the role trips to forest played in
her early family life as a vocabulary through which to understand
and remake history. The anthropomorphic shapes her pieces take -
female and male bodies are continually referenced and remade—are
charged with sexuality and death and the interplay between the two."
