after many super-duper reactions to the aires buenos compilation, unfoundsound continues the "location series" featuring another blossoming surge of techno producers based in a different pocket of the world: marseille, france. after living in the usa for many years, mr. fusiphorm moved back to his homeland, and he settled in marseille. he currently runs foundsound's european office there while quickly becoming close with a small group of witty, sarcastic and creative people such as sarah goldfarb, d-click, and those behind labels roman, photo, indigo*magenta and bip-hop. the underground sound flowing out of marseille is deep, quirky, emotive and melodic. massallian private jokes showcases a tight-knit family of creative minds hailing from the south of france. the end result is nine tracks courtesy of redwan, lu&nl, doesnotcompute, sam & dave & lowran, greg le roy, larry flint, cedric eteocle, sarah goldfarb, and fusiphorm himself on remix duty.

[unfields04] fusiphorm - phonographie phocéenne
the unfields offer a palette of downloadable field recordings at no cost. you are free to use these samples (under the terms described in this licence) to further your own sound experimentation and music production. they are audio snapshots of the world that surrounds us, taken from the subjective point of view of the artist who recorded them.
"since my arrival in marseille in december 2005, i've been discovering and exploring its main ressources: the people, the sea and the sky. the city is under construction, colorful and charming, exciting and excited, but also messy and stinky. to record these sounds, i used a portable minidisc with a tiny stereo microphone. i can go everywhere with it and it has a long autonomy. so i recorded in the bus and the subway, at the local market, at the beach, in the streets, on some construction sites, and finally at a 'petanque' game, to try to give you a feel of the city. anyway, you'll have to come see it by yourself!"
