ARTIST BIO

Fase is the aka for Gustavo Gagliardo, Leandro Waisbord, Pedro Perelman and Martin Tibabuzo. Fase means phase, and for sure this word becamed much more significant for us through time. As an art collective-visual crew we borned in 2000, in Buenos Aires, where we still live and have our operation’s base.
As producers, moving between techno, electro, minimal, it’s been always difficult to get fixed on a style. Always changing mind. But some sounds are still living on our music from the beginning. Tubes, water sounds, weird frequences, clicks, glitchs. Groove as a purpose, bassdrums and basses, main characters. Fat sounds and break beats, between 130 and 135 bpm. Melodys come from downstairs, noises from factories, dark sinthes and dirty sounds, no sugar. Detroit’s underground, Richie Hawtin and Laurent Garnier music as basic influences, but also Basquiat as an example to understand wich worlds we are sharing constantly.
We plan our music-visual sets, finding straight relationships between sounds and images, building “climas”, organic structures. Not as complement but as a main construction. Sequences are made exactly for the tracks. Working almost with graphic images and with fantasy as a topic, sinthesis or abstraction, powerful colors. Colors as lights, always on a proggressive way. Music representing images, images representing music.

This Single for Sutemos is yet one more step further as it is the first time you can listen to probably the most popular minimal techno project from Russia SCSI-9 and famous German Monolake. Latter hasn?t published none of his track on any net label so we are pleased to be the first.

Let us tell you a bit of history. Sutemos Live event series has already gained some speed. Apparat gave it a hot start and Plaid revealed the beauty. In a few weeks on December 15th this series will be continued by Monolake - German legend of minimal techno music. He has promised us to present his newest programm that will feature lots of tracks from his upcoming album.

In January 12th we are waiting for the guests from Russia SCSI-9 and Sleepy Town Manufacture. Both of them are bringing their fresh live sets. SCSI-9 are representatives of famous German Kompakt label it is a duo of two Russian DJs Anton Kubikov and Maxim Milutenko. They are know for the fans of minimal techno music for number of years. Their biggest success was three years ago when Force Tracks have released their second album Digital Russian. This spring their third album was released - The Line Of Nine. It is being praised as the best creation of SCSI-9 to date.

Another guest of the same party is Sleepy Town Manufacture (STM) who is probably the most active and famous Russian IDM artist. Since the foundation of Sutemos.net we have been working with this astonishing producer who has always been our faithful fan. He also told us that his appearance on all three parts of Intelligent Toys had more influence on his musical carrer than his other two albums. By the way in the end of December his third album Inspired By You will be released on Sutemos. This long matured peace of art is a real pretender for the title of the best IDM album of the year.

But that is not all. On 10th of February Sutemos Live will feature a long awaited guest from island of dreams Iceland. This guy is a real talent of minimal, dub and ambient music. I am sure you have already guessed that we are talking about Yagya. This summer he has released one of the best albums this year - Will I Dream During The Process.

Celebraiting these occasions Sutemos net label is releasing Sutemos Live EP that will present you the guests of all of three upcoming gigs. Here you will find 4 tracks (only one of these has been released previously) created by Monolake, SCSI-9, Sleepy Town Manufacture and Yagya. Bon Apetite!

Steve Cooley is back with a new release of banging techno, two tracks of which were created in preparation for his live performance at AVA2006. Most of these tracks begin on his Treo 650, using Bhajis Loops, and then progress through GarageBand and Logic Express. Other techniques involve harvesting glitch and audio ephemera from nature and unnatural sources. The style is layered up from the base of beats, effects, sounds from space, people on the street, everyday snippets of the sounds around us. But don’t forget the beats. This is a 4-track pounder.

[RAR007] Jak-'Dub Elements'-EP

Our next release is a very special one, because it is not only significant to the evolution and revolution of our vision here at Random Access, but also points out what special talent we have. It is autumn again and it is time to pull out the big guns. Always seaching low and high and in every corner of the globe we found a very talented producer from Cagliari, Italy that goes by the name of Jak. He got our attention when we happen to stumble accross his latest offering on French netlabel HaPpy_MekAnism entitled "The Walk In Moon EP." Our release, which is entitled Dub Elements is very inspiring, comprehensive, and totally unique to say the least and is a sort of continuation of the deep, raw, minimal dub funk we heard before and fell in love with. Jak's sound is perfect for the season as we walk out and feel that nip in the air, see the leaves changing colors, and see that first sign that winter is right around the corner as we look out the corner of our eye and spot that snow flake or two floating by. Simply put, this release is magnificent; fusing together back drop dark synth melodies with raw techno funk bass lines and precussion. We hope to have many more releases in the future from Jak. Enjoy!!!

More and More skips along with jaunty distorted drums and a playful beat. A punchy bassline and sweet synth swells bring In Her Eyes to the darker side. The breakbeat nods in the direction of all you old school heads. Plastic Addict pushes it with extra crisp claps and a swirly synth melody along with the distorted vocals of Art Kraft. Jon Doe’s remix funks it up a bit with a bumpin bass groove and hi hats that cut like a knife.

The title track, Delected, is a haunting start with suggestive blips that make it move. An ultra simple bass holds up the low-end. The loopy Jeisa like Minimal keeps it interesting with scattered snares. Definately one to play in a dark little club. Goes finishes up the release with it’s broken beat shuffle. Rythmic clicks and pops interact nicely with the gated plunks.

Exception - groovy, yet quite calm track filled with synths and a beat that will not leave anyone unsatisfied – it fits just fine as a "I'll make my bed" track, or as an "I'll hug the whole world today!!" track... An intro track with a cheerful and happy theme and a nice way to start this EP.
