Luis Rozalén is one of the most prolific Spanish producers. Since end of 80´s he has been working on different projects like Ballet Mecanico or Mo´Septomber, which led to HD Substance, his most known alter ego, and the middle of 90´s.

Today he is presenting us [Miga15] "Corteza", with an "old school" sound, generated by synths, grooveboxes, and a varied hardware arsenal. Pure eclecticism full of electro and Detroit sounds are the key of this fantastic LP, being Miga suggestion to start this new year 2007.

Wieland Samolak - Steady State Music - Imbalance Recordings 1993



I was a teenager I used to sit on an empty field listening for hours to the sounds of distant cars, railroads, helicopters, and other motorized objects. These sounds, which are very rough and noisy when they are near, attracted me from the distance because they had merged and diffused into a continuum when they reached my ears. By this experience it came to my mind that it is more satisfying for me to listen to continuous changes within one sound than to the combinations of discreet sonic events usually found in music.
Remembering that a few years ago I began to search for possibilites to create continuous sonic situations with controlled dramatic development that cannot be expressed in traditional terms of melody, harmony, and sound color. The five pieces collected on this compact disc are my first results.

Wieland Samolak used to work for the Munich branch of the legendary Synthesizer Studio Bonn. He was also the creative mind behind the even more legendary advertisments of the shop and wrote user manuals and translations for Emu Systems and Sequential Circuits. Robert Henke and Gerhard Behles first met at Wielands studio/appartment above the shop in 1988.

Ok, friends! The cooperation between WZR, outstanding minimal/electro event Magion (run by Click.Joe - www.magion.webz.cz) and great music club Fleda (www.fleda.cz) in Brno, CZ brings its first result!

On 27.01.2007 there will be held our first release party! This time it will be focused on our widely well accepted compilation We Are Wazzotic (wzr002). So, there will perform people from our artists roster! Headliner and very precious guest will be Krszyztof Strzelczyk aka 7 AM live - in live performance and also in DJ set! Then we will have chance to listen to the live sounds by Mindhole! Last live performer of this event will be _clean! DJ supporting of these guys will arrange T.C.O. aka STR_MQT, Clara Bailar and Click.Joe!

On this event there will be given special editions of our compilation on CDs! 33 pieces of this hot stuff will be ready for their new owners!

The Kaktusrecordings label has already existed for quite a long time. The underground crowd connected with drum'n'bass/jungle scene and the Prague's Punto Azul club are familiar with the various artists on this label, but throughout the rest of Czech Republic and the world around it's known only to a few trained listeners.

Kaktus came out in a flash in 2001 first releasing the 12" vinyl Kaktus001, where its authors - Igraczech and Touchwood - have shown off their own production style. Since then, Kaktus was standing dormant, flooded with ideas and growing. Now the time has come to show that after six years it's still there. The web you're watching now is our new home and all the musical stories will be available here as free downloadable high quality MP3 releases.

Kaktusrecordings Dot Org is familiar with every musical style and genre. As opposed to many dancefloor-specialised labels, we expect our music to get to our listeners through their ears more than their feet :-)

[owo001] VA - The First Artefacts

Tak je to konecne tady :)



This is the first compilation released on Cryoworks! In fact these tracks are the first ones we've found in this desolate world worth spieling about... and this is why we called it "The First Artifacts".

Chris Herbert opens the compilation with a ghostly ambient tune. Followed up by Jamie Drouin who presents his project VRSN and an untitled track which will conjure up images of drones whispering cybernetic spells into your ears. The next track will submerge you under the sea where you will meet genetically modified marine life as a result of a clandestine research project in the hands of mad biologists and nano-technology. The next tune comes from Sweden and deals with intercontinental interferences (spooky). Strangelet's track closes the ambient part of the compilation.

The second half of the compilation delves much more into minimal aesthetics. Strcprstskrzkrk will reveal the way to create music using the least number of sounds. The masterpiece after was composed by Platform - rich textures and clear sound that will take you far, far away. Followed by Donkeyworks who tells you a short story about one little ice floe... drifting...s lowly. The compilation ends on a high note with _clean's track - Trats!
