V/A - One Day We Will All Live Under the Sea



Two years ago The Silent Ballet magazine and the Lost Children Net Label joined forces with the goal of providing a quarterly compilation that operated outside the boundaries of genre stereotypes, consistently promoted new and emerging artists, and released exclusive tracks into the public. Nine compilations later, we’d like to think that this venture has been a success; over one hundred artists have graciously lent a track to a compilation, the series has been downloaded over 70,000 times, and we’ve received great feedback from readers and musicians alike about discovering a new favorite band
thanks to the series.

The future looks just as bright as ever. We’re currently planning the tenth volume of the series and we do hear the demands to make these compilations available in physical form. While on one hand we do enjoy the fact that the series is 100% free and does no harm to the environment, we are currently exploring a few projects that may result in a physical CD being created at some point in the future. If there’s one thing you can count on us for, it’s being spontaneous.

[IA.002] Sora - Live at Metro

Sora is the alias of Kyoto-based electronic musician Takeshi Kurosawa. The Japanese word sora (空) means 'sky', 'the blue' or 'the heavens'. But the Japanese character also means 'empty', and the tracks on Live at Metro indeed evoke the peacefully relaxing atmosphere and emptiness of mind that an entire day, from sunrise to sunset, of a summer holiday spent at the beach brings.

We see the first rays of the morning sun flicker through the trees. The air, shimmering and blurred by the heat, gently touches the skin as we walk to the beach. We lie down in the sand's tender warmth and take a nap full of dreams and faint memories, before swimming submersed in the joyful play of bubbles in a glistening sea. By late afternoon, we no longer hear but actually feel the breeze coming in from the sea. And the evening rejoices in the promise of sitting around a beach fire until the last melody disappears into the dark open night over the sea.

Live at Metro is a richly textured, playfully arranged, crisply analogue-sounding electronica opus that testifies to the fine taste of early Plop releases and defined the image and future direction of the label back in 2003. Live at Metro also demonstrates the exceptional talent of a young Japanese artist who, in 2006, played the Plop label showcase at the Sonar Festival in Barcelona as well as Sonar Sound Tokyo.

Originally recorded in 2003, Live at Metro features remixes from Sora's first full-length album re.sort (Plop 2003), as well as hitherto unreleased material. The tracks are skilfully interwoven to form a continuous sound event and therefore are provided in one full-length gapless file for download. With Live at Metro Sora gives us a deeply satisfying 32 minutes of audio exploration that stays with us because it echoes a half-remembered state of bliss, perfect peace and innermost contentment.

When you encounter a problem in your daily routine, perhaps, a droid is a gumming up the works. Memory access violations, divide by zero, display unit malfunctions. All of these glitches need to be addressed. A reset is sometimes necessary in order for the droid to regain its composure. Much like a portable computer.

We have a set of farming droids. Models include harvesters, sowers and sprayers. Unless the droids have a biomechanical structure, they are immune to diseases. Our little buddies are well equiped. Unfortunately, like all technological tools, their core system is prone to a variety of bugs... which sometimes lead to disastruous consequences.

Our engineers have been searching for a fix hastily for the past few weeks in the plains of the UK and they have found a rare artefact. An electronic, melodic, musical composition from the hands of Platform which to the astonishment of the engineers, turned out to be the ideal cure for our ailing droids. From now on, when we find droids suffering from errors in their core systems we simply turn on Reset EP. Thus, resetting the droids in a working state. After booting up again, they work perfectly as their neurological networks become subdued and regain sense of the physical world by the mechanical patterns found on this magnificent EP. We fully recommend this album as a maintenance tool for your droids...
