COH - FUNNY VIDEO INTERVIEW

Pro ty, kdo nesleduji muj Facebook newsfeed tady mam takovou chutovku...

A friend just showed this to me - I never saw the video! The interview was done some time last year, over Skype from my studio. I already forgot I did this.. it was some kind of organisation on the web that interviews people of different ["creative"?] occupation, I think.. I don't know why I was chosen, judging by the pictures they found COH myspace profile. The interviewer was an extremely friendly girl, which is probably why I agreed to answer the questions - they had absolutely no clue as to what I had released and after the interview I even forgot to supply them with the background music for the video. I remember the questions being extremely generic, like "how do you make music" and "what is your inspiration", "show us your most recent release".. finishing off with "your message to the world" or something! All in all - quite amusing. Looking at it now, I laugh but I also think I did quite well taken the circumstances! So.. I hope it makes you feel at least a bit as entertained as I feel!

Chubby Wolf, Dani "Chubbs", who also performed as half of the husband and wife duo, Celer, was an educator, poet, writer of prose, non-fiction, and social commentary, a painter, photographer, and an inventive musical multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. As a permanent member of Celer through marriage, she has created many self-releases, many unique and hand crafted, as well as works for labels in Japan, North America, and Europe. She had extensive background in Gender Studies, Education, Photography, and Tibetan Studies, as well as having lived and studied in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. She passed away on July 8, 2009 of heart failure. She will always be missed, and loved by her husband, cat, and two wolf dogs.

Today I've been sorting through a bunch of old boxes of my things, out at my father's place. I found all these compositions I wrote while I was studying music theory in 2004-2005.

This was a piece I wrote for piano, violins, and tuba. I remember the teacher wanted us write everything out on the computer, so that it was easier to read, and to hand in the printed composition with a MIDI recording of the piece. I never learned how to use the computer program, so I ended up writing out everything by hand, and making recordings of the music.

This one cracks me up. This was only 4-5 years ago, yet it's hard for me to believe that I'm the one who wrote this piece of music. It seems my music just keeps getting slower and simpler as time goes on.

And I managed to find the recording I made. For some reason at the time I decided to add drums and harmonium, which aren't even in the score. Guaranteed to give you a headache and make you smile if you listen to the whole song :-)
