Food hacking, Smart City, alternative economies, sustainable consumption
and digital fashion – with their projects, artists are showing
alternatives and draw our attention to social, political and economic
deficiencies. The exhibition does not only showcase these ideas but it
also realises them, as part of the exhibition as well as in public.
Planet B has been designed as a process, as a living organism that will
be developed further – through the audience’s participation and through
cooperation projects with local artists and institutions. A publication
by Lukas Feireiss and Matthias Hübner to accompany the exhibition
presents many more utopias which serve as an inspiration and encourage
us to act.

THE FUTURE WE ARE DREAMING OF
From the 2nd of June to the 21st of August 2016 the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf will present the exhibition project “Planet B” – alternative future plans and an exhibition as a living organism.
The international group exhibition “Planet B – 100 ideas for a new world” engages with the radical changes of our planet – and looks for a plan B for the future we are all dreaming of. 500 years after Thomas Morus’ novel Utopia, artists, designers, architects, scientists and entrepreneurs present their utopias for the 22nd century – on show from the 2nd of June to the 21st of August 2016 at the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf.
Planet B is curated by Alain Bieber, Nicola Funk and Joanna Szlauderbach in cooperation with Vasco Bontje.
