Mechanical engineering industry in Germany expects record turnover
The German mechanical engineering industry is successfully braving the crisis. Despite the general economic slowdown, the industry expects to reach a record turnover of 209 billion euros this year, particularly thanks to its export strength. This is the highest turnover the industry has ever reached, said Thomas Lindner, president of the German Engineering Federation VDMA. This year and next, the mechanical engineering industry expects production to rise by two percent. (DPA – October 23, 2012)
