    Ceres bright spots are salts!
And are likely due to subsurface water, geysers and an incredible process.

    New Dwarf Planet
    http://www.cfht.hawaii.edu/en/news/NewDwarfPlanet/
An international team of astronomers have discovered a new dwarf planet orbiting in the disk of small icy worlds beyond Neptune.
The new object is roughly 700 kilometers in size and has one of the largest orbits for a dwarf planet. Designated 2015 RR245 by
the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center, it was found using the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope on Maunakea,
Hawaii, as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).

    Space in Images - 2016 - 07 - Comet cliffs
    http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2016/07/Comet_cliffs
This striking view of Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko reveals portions of both comet lobes, with dramatic shadows on the 'neck' region between
them. It was taken by Rosetta’s navigation camera (NavCam) on 30 June 2016, from a distance of 25.8 km, and measures about 2.3 km across.
Since reaching the comet on 6 August 2014, Rosetta has extensively mapped its surface. The comet nucleus has a curious shape consisting of two
lobes that are often referred to as the 'head' and the 'body'.

Behind the scenes of protostellar disk formation
    http://phys.org/news/2016-07-scenes-protostellar-disk-formation.html
For a long time the formation of protostellar disks – a prerequisite to the formation of planetary system around stars – has defied theoretical astrophysicists:
In a dense, collapsing cloud of gas and dust, the magnetic field would be dragged to the centre as well resulting in a braking effect. Hardly any rotationally
supported disk can form this way, unless the tiny grains are removed from the cloud by growing or coagulating into bigger grains. This is the result from a new
study published by researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics and other intuitions. The more realistic simulations now take into
account non-ideal magneto-hydrodynamics and ionization chemistry to form a rotationally supported protostellar disk.

Engineers and maintenance staff pose for group photo underneath the structure supporting the primary 8.2-metre mirror
of UT4 "Yepun" — one of four Unit Telescopes that comprise ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), situated at Paranal
Observatory in northern Chile. The massive primary mirror was temporarily removed for cleaning.

    A lonely birthplace | ESA/Hubble
    https://www.spacetelescope.org/images/potw1628a/
This image was taken by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope’s Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS), and shows a starburst galaxy named MCG+07-33-027.
This galaxy lies some 300 million light-years away from us, and is currently experiencing an extraordinarily high rate of star formation — a starburst.
Normal galaxies produce only a couple of new stars per year, but starburst galaxies can produce a hundred times more than that! As MCG+07-33-027 is seen
face-on, the galaxy’s spiral arms and the bright star-forming regions within them are clearly visible and easy for astronomers to study.

Orbital Dynamics Suggests A Recent Formation of Saturn's Moons - Matija Cuk (SETI Talks)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHZZK8smWFo

The age of Saturn's rings and the source of Enceladus's hydrothermal energy have been hotly debated topics for years.
Recently the age of Saturn's moons interior to Titan, previously thought to be as old as Saturn, also became actively debated.
I will show how computer simulations of the past orbital dynamics of Saturn's moons Tethys, Dione and Rhea can tell us how long
they have been around. It appears that the inner moons and rings of Saturn are only about 100 million years, equivalent to the
Cretaceous period on Earth. I will also discuss how the present moons likely originated from debris resulting from a major
orbital instability in which the previous generation of icy moons was destroyed.
