Aymeric Laporte has agreed a deal in principle to join Man City and wants to leave Athletic Bilbao before the end of January. City will trigger his £57m release clause.

Manchester City are keen to sign Athletic Bilbao centre back Aymeric Laporte, according to Sky sources.

Pep Guardiola has said that he wants to sign a central defender - and they've also been linked with a move for West Brom's Jonny Evans.

Sky in Italy is reporting that City are considering paying the £60m needed to trigger Laporte's release clause. If they do it would make Laporte the world's second most expensive defender.

AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri has agreed to join Chelsea on a four-year contract, according to The Evening Standard’s Simon Johnson.

Brazil striker Robinho is to sign for Turkish side Sivasspor, despite being sentenced to jail in Italy for rape.

Robinho, 33, who maintains his innocence, was found guilty of taking part in the gang rape of a woman in Milan in 2013 and given a nine-year sentence in November.

Dortmund’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke told German outlet ​Ruhr Nachrichten that Arsenal had made a ‘first enquiry’ for the Gabon international, but he declined to comment on any figures involved.

However, another German outlet, football magazine ​Kicker, reported that Arsenal had lodged a bid circling the €50m mark, which they also say has not been accepted by Dortmund.

It is thought that Dortmund are likely to accept a bid somewhere around €60m, a fee that Kicker say Arsenal are prepared to offer.

Crystal Palace have shown an interest in signing Inter Milan forward Eder, according to Calciomercato.com.

Roy Hodgson is said to be looking to raid the club he managed between 1995 and 1997 in order to prise the 31-year-old away from the San Siro with a bid of around €10-11m.
