Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur via chairman Daniel Levy opened talks with Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas last week over the possible transfer of French youth international central midfielder Tanguy N’Dombélé, according to L’Équipe.
Levy asked his Lyon counterpart what Les Gones would say to an opening bid in the region of €40m, to which JMA is understood to have replied that the player is not for sale.
Inside Lyon, the feeling is understood to be a little different to the position that Aulas is officially taking, with offers potentially being considered from the €60m mark onwards.
N’Dombélé has played just one full season in Ligue 1, having joined Lyon last summer in an initial loan deal with an €8m option to buy from Amiens, which has since been activated.
The newspaper doubts Levy’s ability and desire to offer from €60m upwards, but Mauricio Pochettino has fallen in love with the player’s profile, claiming that a potential sale of Mousa Dembélé, who has interest in Italy, could potentially facilitate a bid of the magnitude that Lyon would expect.
