Newly-promoted Leeds are lining up one of their first transfers ahead of their return to the Premier League, with widespread newspaper reports claiming 20-year-old Canadian forward Jonathan David in their sights.

David has shone at Belgian club Gent this season to attract interest from Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa.

ASYD: Ajax have rejected €20million bid for goalkeeper Andre Onana from Bayer Leverkusen, according to De Telegraaf.

Speaking in an interview with L’Équipe, Lille President Gérard Lopez confirmed that Brazilian central defender Gabriel is still poised to depart the club this summer, with the above outlet indicating that Napoli remain ahead of Everton in the race to sign the 22-year-old.

“We have other offers for other players but we have not had discussions with their agents. With Gabriel, we are discussing and we have agreed to let him depart. He will choose his next club over the course of this week.”

Chelsea are now the favourites to retain their Brazil forward Willian and a deal could be agreed before the end of the week. It appears a breakthrough has been achieved over a new contract. [@SkySportsNews]

Gianluca di Marzio reports that newly-promoted to Serie A side Benevento have concluded an agreement with AS Monaco to sign 32-year-old Polish international and central defender Kamil Glik.

Glik has arrived in Italy today to undergo a medical ahead of signing a 3-year contract with Benevento.

Speaking to reporters outside Villa Stuart, Glik had the following to say: “I am very happy, I missed Italy.”

The deal is expected to earn Monaco €3.5m.

39-year-old goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has announced on Instagram that he will be leaving Watford when his contract expires at the end of this month.

RMC Sport report that Ligue 1 side Lyon are in talks to sign 18-year-old right-winger Facundo Pellistri from Uruguayan side Peñarol.

The teenager has already played 25 matches this season and has a €9m release clause, which Lyon Sporting Director Juninho is trying to negotiate down. At the moment, the Peñarol board have no intention of budging on the release clause valuation.

Pellistri would not count as a non-EU player in Lyon’s squad if a deal is completed, as he has a Spanish passport.
