Arsenal have long-term midfield targets - Ruben Neves was considered as a possible replacement for Granit Xhaka last summer & his performances for Wolves this season have done little to dissuade the club of their interest.
RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams was considered as a potential solution to the right-back position in the summer, but retain considerable interest in the 22-year-old as a midfielder. His athleticism & mobility would bring stylistic variety to Arsenal’s midfield.
Bruno Guimarães & particularly Douglas Luiz are also admired. Arteta knows Luiz well during their time at Man City. For various reasons, these targets are difficult to acquire in January. Arsenal are likely to examine these names more closely in the summer.

The prospect of joining Arsenal would appeal to Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The club are a good fit for his ambitions. Calvert-Lewin is much admired by the coaching staff at Arsenal, who have proved influential in previous recruitment decisions.
Calvert-Lewin’s personality is seen as a good fit for Arsenal’s current squad & a mooted fee in the region of £60m has not deterred their interest; the problem is Everton’s reluctance to sell. The likelihood is that Arsenal would have to return with a summer bid.
