    Zdravím,
někdo zkušenosti s chovem chobotnic? Zajímalo by mě, zda jdou vůbec u nás v ČR koupit, koukal jsem na net a nic jsem nenašel.

WHAT A GIANT SQUID THAT WASHED UP INTACT CAN TELL US ABOUT THIS ELUSIVE REAL-LIFE KRAKEN
Myth and legend have turned the giant squid into the monster otherwise known as the Kraken, but we actually know little about this creature of the deep that only surfaces—or washes up—occasionally.

500 million years of cephalopod fossils
From Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos to Disney’s Ursula and Nintendo’s Splatoon, squid and their squad continue to captivate people throughout the ages. They’re survivors, both in nature and in human consciousness. Over the course of 500 million years of their history, cephalopods have left us plenty of traces of their presence.

Žralok proti krakatici. Mořští biologové našli důkazy o podivném souboji v hlubinách
V hlubinách poblíž Havaje se zřejmě odehrál souboj dvou vrcholných oceánských predátorů: žraloka dlouhoploutvého a krakatice. Důkazy o něm odhalil fotograf Deron Verbeck.

Robust Clubhook Squid: Freaky Fish of Washington, Oregon Coast
(Seaside, Oregon) – They are a rare occurrence along the Oregon and Washington coast, at least onshore. Not a lot is certain about their population, except that the robust clubhook squid (Onykia robusta) is found in deeper waters (usually warmer areas) along the Pacific, from around Alaska down to California and over to Japan. Whatever the case, they’re a tad Jules Verne and a freaky, fun find along the shoreline for scientists and experts. (Above: photo courtesy Allysa Casteel Seaside Aquarium).

“Superpower” Discovered in Squids: They Can Massively Edit Their Own Genetics
Revealing yet another super-power in the skillful squid, scientists have discovered that squid massively edit their own genetic instructions not only within the nucleus of their neurons, but also within the axon — the long, slender neural projections that transmit electrical impulses to other neurons. This is the first time that edits to genetic information have been observed outside of the nucleus of an animal cell.

Scientists Shed Light On Deep-Sea Squid Communication
While humans exchange information by talking to each other, research suggests Humboldt squid thousands of feet below the surface of the ocean communicate by changing their skin patterns and glowing.

    Octomom
In 2007, Bruce Robison’s robot submarine stumbled across an octopus settling in to brood her eggs. It seemed like a small moment. But as he went back to visit her, month after month, what began as a simple act of motherhood became a heroic feat that has never been equalled by any known species on Earth.
