Kvalitni zklidnena elektronika, doprovazena minimalistickymi melodiemi na ruzne akusticke nastroje (kytara, klavir) a perfektne padnoucim vokalem. Ke konci to muze byt vzhledem ke vzajemne podobnosti vsech tracku uz lehce stereotypni/monotonni :), ale to je jenom nepatrna muska tohoto jinak velmi dobreho releasu.

A propo Thinner neni na home, takze doporucuji pridat. Vzhledem k tomu ze to je fakt stary label (since '98) a neco to uz z nej probehlo, tak snad ani nema cenu psat plusplus label... jenom kdyby si to nekdo vyslovne pral.

(RSC011) kenneth kirschner - november.2006



Release number eleven on Rope Swing Cities brings us a special treat, and that is a collection of beautiful sounds by none other than open source music hero and experimental composer extraordinaire Kenneth Kirschner.

Setting this release apart from much of his other work, november.2006 contains two longer percussion pieces, which much like his ambient music, build and flow with ease, each composition climbing up to a crescendo of sound before drip-dropping away towards a calming end. Both tracks are tribal in nature, the continually shifting rhythms inviting a meditative, trance-like state when listening, while subtle and occasionally not-so-subtle atmospherics float in the background drawing each song together.

Juxtaposed against these two pieces, are sounds that Kirschner fans may find more familiar, 04271991, a beautiful, minimal piano piece, crisp and clean playing accentuated by hints of eerie and mournful washes of sound floating through the background. Rounding out the release is 04172006, a beautiful soundscape evoking feelings of winter, which is appropriate, at least here in Colorado, as the cold and snow settles in upon us as a sort of anti-blanket.

November.2006 is a welcome edition to the Rope Swing Cities family and carries us on into the winter from fall as a perfect accompaniment to the quiet exploration of your hometown’s streets and secret places. Enjoy!

Experimental electronica musical project born during the summer of 2004 formed by two southamerican musicians:

Santiago Costa a.k.a. ATUNe! and Sergio Salomoni a.k.a. pHonotape.
In the beginning nustyrecords explores the limits of digital sound through critical wave modulation and sonority research labs, Santiago mostly dedicated to rhythm and Sergio to harmony and melody, away from the song structure prevailing improvisation and interplay.
Their first releases belong to the noise category, compositions developing tone, pitch and rhythmical phrases in a braid of imperceptible progressions born from empathy and inspiration producing tracks that are impossible to playback.
Some names that guide nustyrecords along the intuitive composition path: Steve Reich, Aphex Twin, Pansonic, Alva Noto, Cage and many other masters.
During 2005 nustyrecords started publishing sound pieces on the independent web based label Fehlton, and also travelled to Munich for participating in the label's opening party.
2006 was mostly dedicated to spontaneous appearances in public spaces such as trains, restaurants and libraries, capturing the surrounding sound and improvising interactive performances with the people.
Nowadays nustyrecords propose an audiovisual experience, setting ambient live performances for fashion shows and festivals, exploring every field of the electronic music library, from electropop to trance, from ambient to glitch, looking for the essential variety of sound that computer based music can reach.

[norbu02] kalope - zeitlupe



The second coming of Norbu brings you an interesting ep from Belgrade's own kalope. Drawing roots from Berlin-induced minimal techno, 12.603 is interwoven with washes of space, showing another improvised, performance-oriented side of these tracks. Inspired by cold war numbers stations, 16.084 takes us on a heartwarming journey through plucked soundscapes and ambience, only to return to the pulsating beat and fade away with a cloud of strings. Countinuing the numbers-oriented theme, 6.485 is a more introspective piece compared to former track, focusing more on the ambience and numbers, yet keeping it in time with bitcrushed beats and further progressions of the basic theme. Four five zero, indeed!

PHACATS: jasne. pokud v tom je jen gusto, tak pohoda. pokud neznalost, tak potom je to spis smutny.

PHACATS: mno rek bych spis fuze italo diska (nez staryho elektra). ale to samy bych moh rict o minimalu, kde se ta skatule dostala uplne jinam. (jak bys pak oznacil veci z raster noton treba? :]). hodnotit hudbu podle toho jak se hodi na parket se mi zda uz hodne mimo, sry. jasne ze tutz tutz producent ma vetsi moznosti podepsat u nakyho labelu a nasledne z toho mit i naky prasule nez blazen sedici na sibiri, pojidajici mrozi polivku a kroutici knobama na svym modularnim systemu nakej experimental. i proto je skladba stylu na netlabelech jaka je. mne to vyhovuje, i proto bez problemu stiham kupovat skoro vse co se mi libi a vyjde z IDM/ambientu/experimentu. u nakyho electro-tech-housu bych koupil tak 5% max.

Jeste k ty debate o electru... Myslim si, ze ten styl jak jsi rikal co se k nam hrne z nemecka neni vubec spatnej, je to vlastne fuze electra 80tejch, minimalu a techhousu urcite ty veci hodne slapou a hodi se na parket kolikrat mnohem vic nez 90% mistnich releasu, ovsem taky jsou placeny... :) viz. produkce Trentemoller, Booka Shade, Tiefschwarz atd...

Milieu returns to Rope Swing Cities accompanied by friend Quosp to deliver an album of beautiful and touching ambient music, perfect for fall weather.

With a total of twenty tracks, this 74 mnute album is a wonderful accompaniment for a long romp through your home town, headphones turned up, kicking your way through piles of leaves, just diggin’ on the sights and sounds. With tones as warm as any winter coat, Grassland Melodies is a wonderful addition to the catalog of both of these artists. By alternating tracks between the two of them, Milieu and Quosp allow the album to carry the listener along, buoying them up on a myriad of sounds and textures which are comforting and thoughtful from start to finish.

YARIN: unclean chtel naznacit, ze pokud se bavime o netlabelech, tak tam je nabidka dost tahnuta jen do par skatulek - do stylu, ktery hodne frcej a do stylu co nemaj na labelech, co distribuujou na fyzickych mediich na ruzich ustlano. takze je to predne IDM(+podstyly) - vznik tydle skatulky byl hodne iniciovan fanouskama a nastupem softwarovejch nastroju pro tvorbu hudby - takze tam je to logicky. a hodne vychazi ambientu a nejvic ruznyho minimaltechna, (electro)techhousu - kde sou zas duvody dany popularitou toho stylu vseobecne.

ta vlna electra, co se objevila pred cca 8 lety, to v podstate zabalila (taky to pravda uz tak moc nesleduju) i prave s nastupem lidi jako je treba vitalic. prvni tomu rikali electroclash, pak uz jen electro a dal si to jde svou cestou. fuzuje se to s hafo dalsima stylama - takovy to klasicky electro/house/techno, co se ted vali z nemecka je dobrej priklad. stary dobry oldschool electro dela uz jen par pravovernejch + par lidi surfuje na vlne "nuelectra" - ale o tom by ti rek vic naila, ja uz to moc nesleduju.
