ORLOCK: no to že je to považováno za drone doom nebo industriál není imho chyba broadricka, ale hudebních kritiků :-) jinak k don't dream it... vždyť je to cover z the rocky horror picture show, takže imho je v tom i slušná dávka nadhledu. a k názvu, tam problém nevidm, prostě jasný odkaz na godflesh a jesu alespoň na začátku na to, kde godflesh skončili navazovali (ted je to už teda opravdu někde jinde)
    ORLOCK
    ORLOCK --- ---
no ja ti nevim karle ..

    JONY
    JONY --- ---
ORLOCK: první track na pale sketches je naopak imho naprosto top :-)
    ORLOCK
    ORLOCK --- ---
JONY: mne sa velmi pacilo aj pale skatches (okrem 1. tracku). ma skor viac irituju tie beaty, ktore mi pridu uplne na jedno kopyto a zneju ako keby pouzival posledne 2-3 roky zvukovu banku z 2 kickov, snareov a hajtiek a tie jebal v roznych obmenach do kazdeho tracku :)
    JONY
    JONY --- ---
škoda... mne u obou LP moc baví ta zpomalená těžká rytmika v kombinaci s těmi shoegaze kytarami a melodiemi... bohužel to už totálně zmizelo...
    JONY
    JONY --- ---
MATHEW: no pěkná kulisa k práci, beaty generické, shoegaze kytárky generické... až má člověk podezření, že na to má doma nějakého robota :-) prostě čím dál větší muzak :-(
    MATHEW
    MATHEW --- ---
JONY: možná je to pro nás všechny znamení, že by bylo záhodno se na jesu vysrat.)
    JONY
    JONY --- ---
MATHEW: je pěkné že se to teď objevilo v New Music Downloads :-)
    MATHEW
    MATHEW --- ---
JONY: já ještě neměl odvahu si to pustit, je to přeslazená píčovina jo?
    JONY
    JONY --- ---
MATHEW: broadrickovi by měl urychleně někdo pořádně nafackovat

Nejen avantgardou živ je člověk. Před pár dny jsem zalovil v archívech a zcela propadl debutové desce Solefald (hlavne potom Coutryside Bohemians).

Solefald - The Linear Scaffold (1997)

    Review by William York
The Linear Scaffold was Solefald's debut album, and it showed right off the bat that they were a band with their own sound and vision. They get lumped into the black metal genre, and they do have certain sonic elements in common with the more symphonic black metal bands such as early Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir; for instance, the big pipe organ keyboards and the painfully shrieking vocals that appear on much of this album. But Solefald passes on the overdone gothic aesthetic favored by so many bands in this same symphonic black metal field, and their music is more wide-ranging and open to experimentation than most bands of that type. Considering that this is just a duo, the songs and arrangements are especially full-sounding, incorporating a variety of keyboards (synth strings, acoustic piano, horror movie organs, and the above-mentioned pipe organs) and vocal styles (clean-voiced singing, spoken passages in both French and English, death metal growls, and high-pitched shrieks) in addition to a nice mix of clean-toned, distorted, and acoustic guitars. The songwriting also has a great sense of flow and dynamics, balancing moody, atmospheric sections with moments of shrieking, blasting intensity, and heaviness. Just as importantly, they come up with consistently strong and memorable melodies throughout the album. For music of this expansive, open-ended sort, this album is a bit on the short side, clocking in at less than 40 minutes, but that's just about the only criticism. One of Solefald's best.

Black Boned Angel - The Endless Coming Into Life (20 Buck Spin, 2008)

Campbell Kneale, of prolific one-man bliss drone project Birchville Cat Motel, returns to his metallic alter-ego Black Boned Angel.
Both projects chase a similar idea from different ends of the spectrum. The Endless Coming Into Life is Kneale's third full-length release as Black Boned Angel (in addition to a slew of CDR EPs), all released by 20 Buck Spin. This work is perhaps Kneale's most obvious combination of the extreme minimalism of his ambient tendencies and the extreme maximalism of his forays into the center of the subterranean metal guitar riff. The album first lulls one into a meditative state of relative calm before plummeting into the chasm created by the vibrations of a single, snarling riff so heavy it could rip a hole in the heavens.
Consisting of a sole one-hour track, The Endless Coming Into Life sits comfortably alongside the darker end of Kneale's ever-growing catalog of work dedicated to finding the light (or dark) source of the universal drone.
