SPDisposeCheck Released!

SPDisposeCheck v1.3.1 has been released on MSDN Code Gallery, http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/SPDisposeCheck. This tool will help improve the quality of your SharePoint assemblies. It will inspect your SharePoint assemblies and check that you are correctly disposing of certain SharePoint objects (IDisposable objects which includes SPSite and SPWeb). The tool is based upon the guidance published in this MSDN article, Best Practices: Using Disposable Windows SharePoint Services Objects

This tool is not supported by Microsoft and is recommended to be used on Developer workstations and not on production SharePoint Server installations. For additional information, please head over to Paul Andrew's blog post.

podle http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927012 bych mel nastavit ucet ktery ma pristup do sharepointi databaze na db serveru, nastavil jsem prava vlastnika na vsechny z tech databazi vytvorenych (obsahu, vyhledavani, administrace) a presto to nefacha... ma tady nekdo zkusenost s nasazenim WSS 3 ve farme?

SharePoint Administrator’s guide to not screwing up :)

On the SharePoint IT Pro documentation team blog there is a wonderful new paper out with some fancy name; we will call it the SharePoint Admin Guide. The paper was written by the team at SharePoint911 with guidance from Brenda C. at Microsoft.

The idea of the paper is it quickly touches on all of the considerations and gotchas a new administrator needs to watch out for. Things like common installation mistakes to what consideration for branding and development you need make. The idea is not for the paper to tell you in great detail everything you need to know. Instead, the paper makes sure you don't encounter the "I didn't even know about that" issue when you server farm. Of course if you want deep details then we reference all of that material also.

Anyway, go download it and read, I promise you will like it.

The Visual Studio extensions for SharePoint (VSeWSS) provide project templates for developers using Visual Studio 2008 to create, debug, package and deploy SharePoint projects including Web Parts, Data Lists, Content Types, Event Receivers, Templates, Modules and other SharePoint artifacts. The v1.3 release is an incremental release of the VSeWSS including top feature requests. It is an interim release for SharePoint Developers on the roadmap until Visual Studio 2010 is released with significantly improved SharePoint development tools as outlined here.
