Spiral Galaxy NGC 3190
Some spiral galaxies are seen almost sideways. NGC 3190, one such galaxy, is the largest member of the Hickson 44 Group,
one of the nearer groups of galaxies to our own Local Group of galaxies. Pictured below, finely textured dust lanes surround
the brightly glowing center of this picturesque spiral. Gravitational tidal interactions with other members of its group have
likely caused the spiral arms of NGC 3190 to appear asymmetric around the center, while the galactic disk also appears warped.
NGC 3190 spans about 75,000 light years across and is visible with a small telescope toward the constellation of the Lion (Leo).

in 2003 in near UV filter (not available via Hubblesite SFAIK, I downloaded the FITS files from a
university site a few years ago). NASA's Dawn spacecraft is due to arrive at Ceres in February 2015.

The Sun Today - 2013-5-29
Today’s Sun seen in this three-wavelenght composite image. The dark area in the center is a coronal hole.

Coronal holes are regions where the Sun’s corona is dark. These features were discovered when X-ray telescopes were first flown above the Earth’s atmosphere to reveal the structure of the corona across the solar disc. Coronal holes are associated with ‘open’ magnetic field lines and are often found at the Sun’s poles. The high-speed solar wind is known to originate in coronal holes. The solar wind escaping from this hole will reach Earth around June 2-3, 2013 and could create some aurorae around the high latitudes.
