On this day in 1989 “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” was Released!
"It was made of metal and quite heavy. After shooting it was sent to ILM. I should have sent it to archives right away, but there was no archives back then, just a bay in a nearby warehouse. It was outside in the parking lot near the model shop but was forklifted here and there by the grips as they needed space. Dickie Dove told me to get it out of there space one day but I couldn’t do it right away. I saw the Iraqi tank sticking out of the dumpster the next day and there was no way I could get it out. It was partly damaged in the process of being dumped. The metal door to the tank had the emblem of Iraq and I took that as a keepsake. I still have it somewhere."
