    Looking just at BEVs …

    While BYD (16.7%) is stable in its leadership position, Tesla (12.6%, up 0.5% compared to August) gained precious ground over #3 Geely (10.8%, down 0.3%).

    Still, comparing these two now to where they were a year ago, the contrast is stark. In August 2024, Tesla was the leader, with 17.5% share, while #3 Geely had only 7.8% share….

    In 4th, SAIC kept Volkswagen Group at bay, but with 13,000 units separating these two, it will be interesting to see how the race develops in the rest of the year.

    In September, BYD remained at the helm, but sales were down YoY, as BYD’s plugin hybrid sales continued to decline. Have we reached peak BYD? We seem to have at least reached peak BYD PHEV, as the company’s plugin hybrid sales were down 26% YoY, making it the sixth consecutive month of declining sales….

    As a performance note on Tesla, its YTD sales are down 6% YoY. At this pace, the Texan make will end the year at some 1.67 million units … and this will be its second consecutive year of falling sales.

    And I am not even counting the expected sales downturn in the USA in Q4.

    Takže je zároveň nefér že Tesle se uměle nafoukly prodeje YTD tím, že v USA končila podpora :) to si nevybereš...

    JIMIQ: No srovnavame prodeje elektrickejch aut. V grafu BYD mas auta ktery nejsou elektricky, ale castecne se spalovakem, takze nefer srovanni. Hod sem kolik prodal BYD ciste elektrik (i tady verim ze se na Teslu dotahuje, nebo uz ji predehnal, protoze ma daleko vic modelu)..

    KOUDY: nefér z jakého pohledu? Proč Tesla neprodává PHEV? Protože si Elon myslí (a v tomto případě výjimečně správně) že pouze BEV jsou budoucnost

    ale proč BYD PHEV prodává? Protože to zvyšuje dočasně zisk.

    SEJDA: Jasne, takze nefer srovnani. Uz jsem se lekl ze by BYD vystrelil tak, ze by celosvetove prodal 3M jen elektrik.

    JIMIQ: BYD sice válcuje Teslu v prodejích, ale do YTD čísel počítá i plug-in hybridy. Z čistě elektrických aut má BYD asi 35 různých modelů, zatímco Tesla jen šest.

    KOUDY: do ted to bylo tak, ze si staty/kontinenty mohly nominovat koho chtely, kdo se v kategorii, podle nich, kvalifikoval.
    Ted prohlasi nejakou sracku, kterou jim kazdy trouba zbasti, s nazi Elonem na cele.

    Ale treba boxera stredni lehke vahy Imán Chalíf, ktera je kontroverzni tak trochu svojim vzhledem, ale hlavne drbami porazenych souperek, je od narozeni zena. :D

    DZODZO: ano, kazdy Slovensky premier (i Fico) by bral mir na Ukrajine vsemi deseti, aby to meli delnici blize.
    Je to ted dobre videt i na tom, ze nove podniky se stavi cim dal tim blize Ukrajine (i kdyz na vychode, neni nic, tim mene prace schopni lidi, nemyslim tim etnicitu, ale prostou hustotu lidske popuplace).

    Kdyz se nam vcera podarilo vyloucit nasazeni humanoidnich chatbotu v automobilkach .. co ale jejich dovatele?

    Jenom na Slovensku, kde maji 5 automobilek, chybi nekolik tisic lidi v odvetvi. A i kdyz poklesla duvera v prostredi, rozestavene projekty to nezastavi. A uz ted je dovazeni desetitisicu delniku, klidne az ze Srbska, bezna praxe.

    In October, Tesla (TSLA) saw its worst sales performance in China in years – down 36% year-over-year. It was its worst month of the year – even worse than when the automaker was transitioning production to the refreshed Model Y.
    The American automaker delivered just over 26,000 electric vehicles in China in October. That’s down 36% compared to the more than 40,000 EVs it delivered during the same period last year.

    Emmanuel Lamacchia, the program manager for Tesla’s Model Y, its best-selling car, announced that he is leaving the automaker.

    Emmanuel Lamacchia, who has been in charge of the Model Y program for the last 4 years, announced that he is leaving the company (via LinkedIn):

    "After 8 incredible years, I’m moving on from Tesla.
    What a journey it’s been… from leading NPI for Model 3 and Model Y variants to becoming the Vehicle Program Manager for Model Y, the best-selling car in the world!
    Leading the All-New Model Y launch was the highlight: converting all 4 factories across 3 continents in just 2 weeks. Something that had never been done before in the auto industry."


    Following his and Awasthi’s departure today, Tesla vehicle program leadership has now been completely wiped out over the last year.

    Daniel Ho, the head of all vehicle programs at Tesla, who is credited with successfully leading Tesla’s first mass-volume vehicle, the Model 3, was reportedly let go as part of Tesla’s massive wave of layoffs last year. He joined Waymo shortly after.

    David Zhang, Tesla’s second most senior vehicle program manager after Ho, also announced that he was leaving Tesla around the same time Ho joined Waymo.
