    Europe’s most effective method of cutting dangerous planet-heating gases risks being weakened after the European Commission proposed an overhaul of its flagship carbon market, critics have said.

    In a long-awaited review of the European Union emissions trading system (ETS), the European Commission proposed giving companies a less demanding and cheaper pathway to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

    The Netherlands is officially in a water shortage

    The Dutch infrastructure ministry has moved up its assessment of the country’s water supply to “actual water shortage” due to the high temperatures and lack of rain.

    “Due to persistent drought, less water is entering our country via rain and rivers, while the demand for water is rising,” the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management said in a statement on Thursday.

    Since early July, there has been a Level 1 or “impending water shortage” but now the level has been upgraded to a Level 2 or “actual water shortage.”

    LA_PIOVRA: to je otázka. tohle nemá precedent. I když se média plní zaručenými předpověďmi, takhle ta teplota nikdy nevyjela, není proto v reálu žádné měřítko. Nevíme co to udělá. Víme jen, že můžeme očekávat extrémy, ale kde a na kterou stranu, to už moc ne.
