Reaktor č. 1 rumunské jaderné elektrárny v Cernavoda byl odstaven kvůli mimořádně nízké hladině Dunaje způsobené závažným suchem. Provozovatel firma Nuclearelectrica uvedl, že se jedná o preventivní opatření zaměřené na ochranu zařízení elektrárny. Společnost rovněž varovala, že pokud bude hladina vody dále klesat, mohlo by dojít k odstavení i reaktoru č. 2.

TADEAS: tohle je teda celkem baseline... Je to lac des Brennets, napájí ho Doubs, což je horská říčka velikosti Labe na Labský. Je to třetí přírodní jezero v řadě, na kterým se nedá regulovat hladina, takže jim to tam takhle vysychá jednou za pětiletku. Ty jezera maj dohromady nějakejch 7 km2, což dělá 700l/s odparu při 35 stupních, celá ta říčka má normálně 5 m3/s a za sucha tak 1-2 m3/s. Zdaleka nejvíc vody (kolem 2m3/s) se z ní ztratí díky krasovýmu podloží ponorama do sousední řeky Loue, a většinou je to hlavní příčina vysychání, někde se otevře nová průrva a dokud jí nezadělaj jílem a geotextíliema, jsou všechny jezera o pár metrů níž.
