During a religious festival in Ajmer (India), on the last weekend, believers of Sufism, mystical Islamic sect, participated in a ritual of self-flagellation, sticking knives and other sharp metal objects in the eye.
Thousands of devotees from different parts of India participated in the procession, which marks the death anniversary of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, known as the Benefactor of the Poor.
