This seemingly fun and lively photo of two brothers - Michael and Sean McQuilken - was taken at Moro Rock in California’s Sequoia National Park on August 20, 1975. The photograph was captured by their sister Mary just seconds before they were struck by lightning. One of the brothers later recalled: “At the time, we thought this was humorous. I took a photo of Mary and Mary took a photo of Sean and me. I raised my right hand into the air and the ring I had on began to buzz so loudly that everyone could hear it. I found myself on the ground with the others. Sean was collapsed and huddled on his knees. Smoke was pouring from his back.” At the time, all the three survived.

Fotograf Andrew McCarthy sloučil ve Photoshopu téměř 50.000 fotek a vytvořil tak nejlepší fotku měsíce z povrchu zemského. Fotografie má v originálu rozlišení 81 Mpx. Byla focena dvěma fotoaparáty: jedním zastíněná strana měsíce + hvězdy ✨ a druhým osvětlená strana měsíce . Takhle ohromné množství fotek sloužilo pro "zprůměrování" (potažmo pro odstranění) rozmazání, které způsobily atmosférické turbulence, a pro odstranění šumu senzoru fotoaparátu .

— come from our satellites and ground sensors.

Aerosols are all around us. From the smoke from a fire, to the dust in the wind to the salt in sea spray — these solid particles and liquid droplets are always swirling in our atmosphere, oftentimes unseen.

This visualization was compiled on Aug. 24, 2018 — obviously a busy day for aerosols in our atmosphere. Swirls of sea salt (indicated by blue) reveal typhoons Soulik and Cimaron heading straight towards
South Korea and Japan. A haze of black carbon (indicated by red) suffuse from agricultural burning in Africa and large wildfires in North America. And clouds of dust (indicated by purple) float off the Sahara desert.
