The Invention Secrecy Act of 1951 requires the government to impose "secrecy orders" on certain patent applications that contain sensitive information, thereby restricting disclosure of the invention and withholding the grant of a patent. Remarkably, this requirement can be imposed even when the application is generated and entirely owned by a private individual or company without government sponsorship or support.

There are several types of secrecy orders which range in severity from simple prohibitions on export (but allowing other disclosure for legitimate business purposes) up to classification, requiring secure storage of the application and prohibition of all disclosure.

At the end of fiscal year 2013, there were 5,445 secrecy orders in effect.

As Dr. Mallove states in this interview, "There is nothing worse...than suggesting to academic physicists in particular, and academics in general, that they are not only wrong; they are disastrously wrong, catastrophically wrong." In his magazine, Dr. Mallove has advised us to remember the sentiments of Michael Faraday: "Nothing is too wonderful to be true."

TLUSTEI: Totiž ani to, že v ní budeme věřit úplně všichni nestačí na její skutečnou realizaci. Třeba perpetum mobile... existujou jich tisíce už po stovky let, přesto nikdo nikdy nevydal ani skicu jednoho takovýho fungujícího zařízení. Co lidi nutí věřit, že to funguje? Je to charisma člověka, který o tom mluví? Nebo co to způsobuje? Chci to vědět, protože přesně na tomhle se hodně vydělává :)

POWEROFSTYLE: To skoro zavání Aštarem, nepatří to spíš do nějakýho klubu o náboženství?

GULL: jop dávali to i v Tv. a zajímavý je to že pak řekli že má dneska dorazit sluneční erupce hůře muže fungovat GPS a mobily atp.
