The Challenge
On Sat 5th June, BBC Radio 1Xtra will launch an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest ever DJ relay.
This ground-breaking event will take place at Vibe Bar, London from 1:30pm on Saturday 5th June. Audience numbers are limited and it will be strictly first come, first served.
The current world record stands at 59 tracks mixed by 59 DJs at D-Train, Bridge & Tunnel Club, London on 18 June 2003. No one has managed to break the record since.
We've assembled a huge line-up of DJs from across the musical spectrum, including award-winners, prominent club DJs and BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ's from both past and present. Will we break the record?
In honour of the big challenge we're celebrating the art of DJ culture all week on BBC Radio 1Xtra from Mon 31st - Sat 5th June in the run up to the event. Led by Rampage, we'll investigate the realm of the DJ. Mixing, Scratching, Looping, Beatmatching - we'll break down the lot.
