pripada mi to podobne jako bychom rekli ze k mluveni(ci psani) nepotrebujes studovat lingvistiku..to je pravda, ale neznamena to ze lingvistika s jazykem jako takovym nesouvisi
k tomu abys mohl delat umeni vyuzivajici programovaci jazyky asi ani nemusis umet sam programovat-k tomu abys mohl programovat asi nemusis rozumet Chomskyho teoriim, ale neda se prece rict ze by to s tim nesouviselo...

Gramatika urcuje konkretni jazyk, prekladac vyuziva gramatiku a to tak, ze zkousi postupne to, co leze z parseru(Lexikalniho analyzatoru), zda vyhovuje pravidlum gramatiky. V urcitych mistech ze sebe zase neco plive (prelozeny text), jestli vas to teda zajima, jak jsem usoudil z aktualni debaty

KHALAVERA: je to stejne ve vsech paradigmatech podle me, gramatiku vyuziva prekladac (respektive parser, jeho soucast)... ale nechci mlzit, taky me tohle tema totiz strasne bavi :o)

Context-free grammars are limited in the extent to which they can express all of the requirements of a language. Informally, the reason is that the memory of such a language is limited. The grammar cannot remember the presence of a construct over an arbitrarily long input; this is necessary for a language in which, for example, a name must be declared before it may be referenced. More powerful grammars that can express this constraint, however, cannot be parsed efficiently. Thus, it is a common strategy to create a relaxed parser for a context-free grammar which accepts a superset of the desired language constructs (that is, it accepts some invalid constructs); later, the unwanted constructs can be filtered out.

a jestli mi to vyjde tak tam pujdu a poreferuju...pokud to po jeho seminari pochopim ja tak je pow(buh,2) :-))

vychází to z Chomského teorie generativní gramatiky a je to matematicko-informatický ultrahnus, tedy pokud do toho nepronikneš, jinak to má svůj půvab :) CFG stojí za každým prog. jazykem v procedurálním paradigmatu (tedy kód jako posloupnost příkazů), jak je to u programování funkcionálního nebo logického už si nepamatuju, ale tipoval bych, že stejně

a zajímat tě to může imho stejně jako zedníka chemický proces schnutí malty .)

ale kdo ví, možná ty střeva vytahuje na světlo a pracuje s nimi jinak, bůhví :) každopádně pokud to vysvětlí za hoďku a půl, tak je bůh, pže třeba mě trvalo skoro rok a půl než jsem to pochopil :))

hmm no vidis..toz me to nenapadlo protoze tomu nerozumim..ale ze na mailing listu open labu odkud to mam nikdo tuhle otazku nepolozil je zajimavy..
treba se ho muzes zeptat? :-)

COMPUTER GENERATED ART USING CONTEXT-FREE GRAMMARS

An LKL Maths-Art seminar by
Brock Craft (London Knowledge Lab)
Tuesday 9 October, 6.00 - 7.30pm

Using software that applies "context-free grammars" it is possible to
produce images containing many millions of distinct shapes with just a
handful of instructions. Context-free grammars are logical constructs
that
can be used to formally describe programming languages and other
complex
entities. They are useful because they can very economically describe
highly
complex processes and structures. The rules of the grammar describe how
to
build the structure rather than describing the location and
characteristics
of its individual parts. Besides generating elegant images, research in
complex grammars can lead to more efficient and powerful techniques for
computation. In this seminar, I will discuss the application of
context-free
grammars to computer-based art and show some of my work which uses
software
employing this technique.
