    1991 Cizeta Moroder V16T

The Cizeta-Moroder name comes from the founder Claudio Zampolli's initials (C.Z. read as “ci” and “zeta” in Italian) and the partnership with the composer Giorgio Moroder, which provided financial support for the project. The V16T was designed by the legendary Marcello Gandini. The Cizeta’s V16 is the product of a merger between 2 Lamborghini Urraco V8’s. The 64 valves beast will produce 560 hp and propel the Cizeta from 0-100 in around 4.5 seconds.
It is still a striking vehicle by any era's standards, though, and would be amazing to see on the road today.

    1987 Ferrari F40

Today marks engineer Nicola Materazzi’s 80th birthday. He worked a lot on Ferrari supercars like Testarossa, 288 GTO Evoluzione, 328 and, of course, the Ferrari F40 of which he was responsible for the whole project

    1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400S

Marcello Gandini’s design literally made the mold from which nearly every supercar would be modeled after for the next two decades: a sleek flying wedge, short but wide, impossibly low to the ground, with a mid-mounted engine and upward-opening “scissor doors.”

    1997 Subaru Impreza WRC

As the 87th Rally Montecarlo is kicking off today, we pay tribute to Piero Liatti, the last Monte-Carlo-rally-winning Italian driver. Piero has been official Subaru driver from 1995 to 1998, firstly as tarmac-specialist but then he got the chance of driving during all events. One of his best season was 1997 when he was able to get a maiden win in the first event of the season. Liatti won Monte Carlo rally defeating reigning champion Tommi Mäkinen and WRC heroes like Carlos Sainz and Colin McRae, his teammate at Subaru. He came second in Spain after an intense fight again with Mäkinen and he was going to win in Sanremo too if team orders didn’t need him to slow down and let trough McRae for championship reason. He will finish 6th that year, competing in only 5 events of the season.
