Tai Cheng-ching fears that he will die in a clash with pirate Lei Chen-tien, so he gives his valued golden seal to his master and further asks him to bring up his three-year old son Tai Tien-chou and to train him in swordsmanship. The father’s fear comes true, and his master carries out this last request.

The young Tai becomes a skilled swordsman, and pledges to avenge his father's death. One day as Tai is traveling in the Chien Kun Valley, he meets Wu Hsiao-yen, a girl disguised as a boy. She is going to her uncle to complain about the very old enemy, Lei Chen-tien, who has been plundering the valley. They decide to travel together, but they soon encounter Chen-tien’s father who thinks Tai has abducted his daughter, and consequently badly beats him. Hsiao-yen manages to persuade her father to take Tai home to recover.

Once inside Chien Kun Valley, and after regaining his health, Tai spies Chen-tien. One night, an intruder Feng Ching-i, attempts to assassinate Chen-tien. In the ensuing chase, Tai risks his life to protect Ching-i and is wounded by a poison arrow. Ching-i takes Tai to a cave and goes looking for herbs to heal the wound.

Discovering that Tai is missing, Hsiao-yen sets out to find him. She arrives at the cave just as Ching-i is returning, and concluding that Ching-i is planning to kill Tien-chou, she challenges her. They reach a stand off and agree to wait for Tai to regain consciousness to explain.

Unable to catch the assassin, Chen-tien assumes that Tai was brought to the valley by Wu Tien-ting and his daughter, so he prepares to arrest them. Hsiao-yen returns and tells Chen-tien about the cave and he agrees to take no action until Ching-i and Tai are brought to him. He sends his men to the cave but it’s empty. They learn that Ching-i and Tai have gone to the mountains.

Hsiao-yen foolishly asks to accompany the men. The cunning Chen-tien consents to let her go with four bodyguards. After they depart, he kills her father. The bodyguards then attempt to kill Hsiao-yen. Finally she realises how treacherous Chen-tien is and joins Tai and Ching-i at the mountain retreat to fight Chen-tien. After a long journey, they reach Chen-tien’s hide-out; a bloody battle follows. Tai kills Chen-tien by striking him viciously on the temple with the old golden seal but he too dies in the fight.

Tak tenhle film se me libil mnohem vic nez pomsta snezne divky. Opravdu kvalitka. Akce, hezke slecny, co vic si prat?

MAEDHROS: No tak te to tam doost sekne! Abych se priznal kvuli ni jsem to taky stahnul.

Tak tohle je, co jsem slyšela, jedna z celkem ultimátních Shaw swordplay klasik. A kdyby nic jinýho, babe queen Li Ching v hlavní roli je véééééélký lákadlo (aspoň já ji teda hodně žeru).

Shen Ping-hung accompanies her parents when they steal the coveted Tsui Feng Sword. Later Ping-hung witnesses the murder of her parents when they refuse to give up the sword to Kao Yun and Tung Hung who have come to claim it. After the enemies leave, Ping-hung is unable to crawl out of her hiding place because she has been standing in icy water and her feet are numb. She is saved by a knight who then takes her on as his student. After ten years of training in martial arts, she sets out to avenge the death of her parents.

On one occasion she finds herself surrounded by for warriors, and Kao Tien-ying, the second son of Kao Yun, comes to the rescue. Later she is a guest of Kao’s residence and she takes this opportunity to kill two of her parents’ murderers. While the Kaos are moved by her intention to avenge the death of her parents, Kao Yun begs her to forget her plan, insisting that their murder was a mistake; he even claims he can cure her of the difficulty she has been having with her feet. As he is examining her feet, Ping-hung wounds Kao and flees.

Nonetheless Kao Tien-ying decides to help Shen cure her feet. This can be accomplished only if they are soaked in a hot spring in the middle of an ice field. After obtaining fire-proof armor, he is able to steal a fire-ball to heat up the spring. Shen begins her treatment in the ice field, whereupon Tung Hung and his men appear. When Tien-ying confronts Tung Hung and his men on the ice field, they overwhelm him, but now it’s Shen’s turn to rescue. She hands him the fireball, and, taking Tien-ying’s sword, kills Tung. But in the end she herself is slowly frozen to death. Tien-ying, in gratitude to Shen for saving his life, spends his remaining days in a small hut near her grave.

Musim rict, ze jsem se toho trosku bal, ale kdyz k tomu clovek pristoupi jako ke staremu filmu a nepozaduje psychologii postav a tak tak to neni marny film. Prijemne jsem si u toho odpocinul.

Neumíte plz někdo torrent na One Last Dance?

Zkoukla jsem Inner Senses - a je to podařená duchárna s místama hodně silnou atmosférou (a přidanou sentimentální hodnotou).

Tak jsem po mnoha letech cekani, chci to videt uz od 98 konecne zkouknul nize uvedeny film.

Jedna se o adaptaci dvou povidek japonske spisovatelky Banany Jošimoto: Kuchyně a Úplněk. Priznam se, ze ty povidky mam hodne rad, takze jsem se nemohl ubranit jiste zaujatosti. Loni jsem zkouknul japonskou adaptaci:

a ta se opravdu nepovedla, pravda mohlo k tomu prispet i to, ze na DVDcku nejsou zadne titulky a japonstinu zas tak moc nezvladam, ale z mych zkusenosti kdyz je to dobry film clovek to proste pozna. Takze k HK adaptaci jsem pristupoval s obavami.
Ale po zkouknuti nemuzu nez doporucit! Sice je trosku naraz akceptovat to, ze misto v japonsku se to odehrava v cine, ale je to vice nez vyvazeno tim jak dovedli tvurci vystihnout atmosferu literarni predlohy. Tesknota, snovost, melancholie....a zaroven nadeje.
Opravdu moc povedeny film!

Zhlédla jsem The Generation Gap - a hodně dobrý. S konečným hodnocením si počkám, dokud to neuvidím s titulkama (sledovala jsem to na tudou, takže putonghua a no subtitles). Zatím se mi to jeví jako ne sice prudce originální, ale zato velmi fajn generační drama vylepšený několika pěknejma rvačkama - a když roli mladýho rebela hraje David Chiang - no tak je to v zásadě sázka na jistotu...:-)

Ale tak to zas pozor Face Off je výbornej, akorát prostě jinej žánr, žádnej heroic bloodshed... ta závěrečná scéna se zrcadly!

Jo, ten nebyl úplně marnej. Ale Hard Boiled to prostě není...;-)

MAEDHROS: Nahodou Face off je moc dobry film.

Já osobně nemám co řešit - bojím se trochu, těším se velmi...:-)
Obsazení je docela luxusní a Woovi i přes jeho hollywoodský pokusy věřím...

SEEKER: To ja taky.
An Empress and the Warriors me po tom ocekavani moc nenadchlo, ale na druhou stranu horsi uz to byt nemuze.
I kdyz, vlastne muze tam hrala Kelly Chen, diky niz jsem to dokoukal.

SHINNITCHIKA: tak na tohle se vubec netesim a pravdepodobne se tomu vyhnu obloukem :)

Ve třetím století stála království Wu a Xu ve válce proti vojevůdci Cao Cao, který se snažil sjednotit Čínu. Království Wu i Xu ovšem nedosahovala takového počtu vojáků jako jejich protivník Cao Cao, proto uzavřela dohodu a spojila se proti němu. Ani to jim ovšem nestačilo aby se alespoň rovnala vřavám protivníkovy armády. Můžeme se těšit na bitvy jak na moři tak na souši.

Je to sice cinsky film, ale...tohle je Film, ktery se zkratka musi videt!

Opet je to velice davno co jsem to videl. Pamatuju se jen....

Do vesnice kdesi v pousti prichazi dva slepci, stary hudebnik se svym zakem. Mistrovi kdyz byl mlady dal jeho ucitel do loutny recept na zazracny lek, ktery mu vrati zrak, ale smi ho otevrit pouze az mu praskne ticici struna a ta chvile se blizi...
Nadherna hudba, cinska krajina, byt neutesena. Co vic si prat?

Prave jsem si vzpomnel na naprosto dokonaly film.
