Free climber and dare devil extraordinaire Dean Potter successfully finished a lone slackline walk across Enshi Grand Canyon in east China's Hubei Province Sunday.
Walking at an altitude of 1,800 m on a 40-meter-long and two-centimeter-wide slackline, Potter completed this challenge in just over two minutes without taking any protective measures.
Though he failed several times before his triumph, Potter persisted, and was overjoyed when he reached his destination.
Born on Jan. 18, 1972, American Potter pioneered long slackline walking. Slacklining is a practice in balance like tight roping, but it is more dynamic and reactive to the walker's movement than a tightrope, thus it is considered more challenging.
