Some interesting Tesla Cybercab details in no particular order:
— Design goal to be extremely efficient
— Designed for lowest cost production and lifetime usage
— <0.2Cd but unsure of CdA which is what actually matters
— Unboxed manufacturing process (module production)
— Injection molded body panels - no paint shops, less emissions, huge amount of recycled material
— Brake by wire but individual actuator - I believe Bosch supplier, no brake fluid - no central master cylinder - individual actuators on each corner!
— FWD, fairly tall gear ratio, a lot of work to reduce motor generated noise into cabin
— Battery pack uses dry cathode 4680 - engineered for 500k miles of DCFC, vibrations, temperature swing etc
— Ancillary bay, similar to penthouse, houses DC/DC
— 48V low (medium) voltage architecture
— Steer by wire steering rack is mounted rear of the drive unit
— Similar autopilot computer to HW4 with some iterative updates (not disclosed)
