Zemědělci aplikující regenerativní zemědělství, kteří jsou zapojeni do projektu Carboneg, získají finanční odměnu za každou tunu CO2, kterou uloží do půdy. Celý proces měření je podložen certifikací.

Potřebné finanční prostředky získáváme prodejem tzv. uhlíkových kreditů. Na jedné straně zemědělec, který se snaží hospodařit tak, aby co nejvíce CO2 skončilo na (v) jeho poli nebo louce, na druhé straně firmy, které si potřebují snížit svou uhlíkovou stopu. Typicky jsou to banky, konzultantské či IT společnosti, které se zavázaly, že do určité doby budou uhlíkově neutrální. A právě těmto společnostem nabízíme možnost dosáhnout splnění svých ambiciózních klimatických cílů nákupem offsetů.

Podporu regenerativního zemědělství však slibuje i Evropská komise. Ta se do konce roku 2022 zavázala k předložení návrhu právního rámce pro certifikační systém pro započítávání a certifikaci pohlcování emisí z oblasti zemědělství a lesnictví.

The climate crisis has reached a “really bleak moment”, one of the world’s leading climate scientists has said, after a slew of major reports laid bare how close the planet is to catastrophe.

Collective action is needed by the world’s nations more now than at any point since the second world war to avoid climate tipping points, Prof Johan Rockström said, but geopolitical tensions are at a high.

He said the world was coming “very, very close to irreversible changes … time is really running out very, very fast”.

Emissions must fall by about half by 2030 to meet the internationally agreed target of 1.5C of heating but are still rising, the reports showed – at a time when oil giants are making astronomical amounts of money.

Two other large emitters were an oilfield in New Mexico and a waste-processing complex in Iran, emitting nearly 29,000kg (60,000 pounds) of methane per hour combined. The methane plume south of the Iranian capital Tehran was at least 4.8km (3 miles) long
