July 2026: Hottest US Month Ever.

The climate skeptic talking point of 1936 has been dethroned. NASA says July 2026 is now the hottest month on record in the US, by a small margin, due to El Niño on top of long term warming. 1936 was an incredibly hot summer - many city all-time records were set and still exist from that year. But Zoom Out and there are two key points:

1. The heat was very concentrated mainly in the Dust Bowl and adjacent regions. That’s 1% of Earth’s surface.

2. In 1936 the Earth had both extreme heat and cold, but July 2026 has anomalous heat virtually EVERYWHERE. That’s the difference: it’s now warm EVERYWHERE, and it will only get warmer from here.

Průměrná teplota hladiny mimopolárního oceánu dosáhla v červenci 20,96 °C, nejvíc pro tento měsíc v historii měření (dosud 20,89 °C z roku 2023), rekordní hodnoty s vlnami mořského veder padaly i podél atlantického pobřeží a v západním Středomoří.

Yet again we find that the biggest block to a realist strategy in response to the elite's death project on carbon emissions is the liberal media. It claims to be addressing our "concerns" in a progressive manner - and this framing acts as a cover to distract us into an exclusive focus on individual action and techno fixes - while there is total silence on what "the climate crisis" act concretely entails as we go over 2C in a decade's time - meaning economic collapse and mass starvation (remember the British insurance industry report predicts over 2 billion deaths if we pass 2C). This then dampens the ability to build a national social movement that will force the political revolution we need - to replace the corporate controlled political class with sortition based citizens assemblies, with the legal power and thus popular legitimacy to overcome the power of capital.

Our single biggest political task is to separate from the liberal class and build bottom up, people-based movements which refuse to be managed by these complicit criminals - and move to the revolution which is now absolutely justified and necessary.

Why is Britain running out of water? Because the political class is utterly corrupted and bought out by the rich .... obviously.

Ekonomicky možná nejdůležitější věcí Babišovy vlády bude chystaná transformace ČEZu, při které soukromí investoři získají vysoce výdělečnou přenosovou a distribuční soustavu, státu zůstanou rizikové investicí do jádra a problémy s útlumem uhlí. Navrch na tom trhnou miliardy zahraniční fondy a Tykač skrze vykupování akcií minoritářů. A nějaký Babišův spin-doktor vymyslel, že se tomu bude říkat zestátnění ČEZu, ačkoliv jde o největší privatizaci státního majetku od devadesátých let.

The Financial Times first reported it, citing people briefed on the talks. Reuters, WSJ, and Bloomberg have independently confirmed via sources familiar with the matter.

It's a consortium (Apollo, Blackstone, BlackRock GIP, Brookfield, Goldman, KKR) working with Nvidia to assemble a ~$500B funding package for AI infrastructure build-out (chips, power, data centers). Not a simple direct $500B loan to Nvidia. No official company statements yet; deal could be announced soon.

Amazon’s artificial intelligence ambitions will soon be partly fueled by a natural gas-burning power plant in Texas that “could become the largest single source of climate pollution in the United States,” The New York Times reported.

At the start of August, Cleanview discovered that the tech giant had filed three construction permits in Texas near the power plant that were “beginning immediately” and wondered if the projects were linked.

Thoroughly documenting the paper trail and taking satellite images, Cleanview got Amazon to confirm its suspicions, then released a report Friday warning that “Amazon is backing what could be the largest natural gas power plant ever built in the United States.”

Specifically, one permit showed the power plant “would use 35 turbines to generate up to 7.65 gigawatts of power,” Cleanview reported.

Although it’s rare for any facility to emit as much as its permits allow, Cleanview is concerned that Amazon’s rush to fulfill Amazon Web Services cloud orders will tempt the company to blast more and more emissions into more areas each year without adequately weighing public harms. On top of the Texas power plant, Amazon is also “in talks with the developers of a 4.5 GW gas power plant in Homer City, Pennsylvania,” Cleanview reported.
