Robert Mercer, a linguist and computer scientist who trained under Revilo Oliver 193 (the antisemitic white supremacist who was expelled from the John Birch Society for his extreme views), helped fund Bannon’s efforts with Breitbart News and the infamous data analytics company Cambridge Analytica, as well as several other initiatives connected to the 2016 Trump campaign. 194 Mercer’s daughter Rebekah would also go on to fund the Parler social network, 195 collaborating with several people from the Ron Paul network, including Ron Paul’s grandson-in-law, convicted political operative Jesse Benton. 196 The Koch network selected and installed Mike Pence as vice president and his key aide, Marc Short, in the 2016 Trump campaign. 197 The Trump campaign was a marriage of convenience consisting of Mercer, the Koch brothers, the donors and political operatives in the CNP orbit, and international interests—with Trump and Pence serving as the frontmen.
