    PER2: jj daval si sem clanek jak je v roce 2025 lidar hrozne levnouckej, ale tesla S, X, 3 a Y se nevyvijely v roce 2025, ale o deset let driv..Tak jsem te jen jak je mym dobrym zvykem opravil a hodil ti sem info kolik ty lidary staly treba pred sedmi lety. Nekolikrat ty lidar senzory zkouseli a vzdycky se na to vysrali.

    "Just a few years ago, a single top-of-the-range lidar cost upwards of $75,000. Today, we’ve brought down that cost by more than 90%," Krafcik said. "As we look to scale, we will do even better, with the goal of making this technology accessible to millions of people."

    Waymo is also building all of its self-driving car hardware in-house to ensure that it can scale, Krafcik said.

    If Waymo has indeed managed to reduce that top-range lidar cost by more than 90%, the company is looking at a price of roughly $7,500 per sensor. Waymo originally used lidar manufactured by Velodyne in its early prototype cars.

    Since its collaboration with Waymo, Velodyne has reduced the price of its lidar to range from $8,000 to $30,000, depending on how many lasers it shoots out. Ford and China-based internet company Baidu have both invested $150 million in Velodyne for their self-driving car efforts.

    Tesla hlavne Lidar avoidla v dobe, kdy stal asi 15x vic nez ted a ta technologie byla v plenkach a ted uz je samozrejme tezky dostat do 5-10 let starejch aut ktery davno jezdej na silnici nejakej novej radar.

    PES: Jeste jsem kdysi nekde videl zduvodneni Tesly, proc pouzivat jenom kamery, ze kdyz mas vic senzoru, tak je problem to vyhodnotit, kdyz kazdy posila jina data. Coz se z principu bude dit dost casto. Takze kdyz zahodi vse krome kamer, tak to bude kus jednodussi. Plus to vyzaduje slozitejsi kalibraci, aby ta data mohla vubec jit rozumne propojit (*). Je mozne, ze jim to vyslo, ze se jim AI stejne sama nauci spolehat jen na kamery a krome nejake te obcasne havarie ve tme/protisvetle/mokru to funguje dostatecne spolehlive, tak proc si nezjednodussit slozity problem a jeste navic usetrit.

    Plus tam asi bude jeste jeden duvod: neustale tvrdi, ze jejich hlavni vyhoda je to obrovske mnozstvi dat, ktere jejich auta uz nasbirala a ktere muzou pouzivat pro uceni a simulaci. To podle me plati hlavne pro kamery.
